I wouldn't be surprised to see them loan him out in January. If he's out until after the World Cup that means Boxing Day at the earliest. He won't be match fit as he won't have played for three months and Luton are doing fine without him. He would also be well down the pecking order if everyone stays fit and isn't sold @Pelly will be able to say more? He would strengthen our goal shy front three who don't look like having enough goals in them to push us on. Half a season with us to get him back on track, Luton write him off for this season and he goes again for them in the summer.
Another beautiful goal from Carlton tonight. Reckon we could get promoted this season, terrific squad with or without Woodrow
Still angers me how little we got for Morris. Complete striker at that level. Good luck to Luton, be nice to see them go up with Morris, Bree & Clark all playing regularly for them.
I got a few dissenting voices on here when I said Morris is a top 6 Championship striker when he's fit and firing - he's class but the "when he's fit" bit is the issue
Aye, there were, but as I remember it, there was plenty pushing back on that though, a fair % of us thought the same bud. Quality player
He's quality, an absolute bargain. If we still had him we'd be up there with Plymouth and Ipswich but we don't....so we aren't.
I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Last season would be forgotten and he'd have a field day with League 1 defences.
Very decent player, ever present. good defender, gets forward well, good on dead balls. Top Championship player
Another player who Jones has got the absolute best out of. Changed his position from out wide to central midfielder where he both works hard and can thread a lovely ball through. Seems to have stopped scoring though, he got quite a few when he first arrived
The only thing that leaves me scratching my head about Morris is that a supposedly bigger club didn't come in for Morris and blow Luton's wage offer out of the water. I don't understand how Barnsley could see how good Morris is and Luton could see how good Morris is and every Barnsley and Luton fan can see how good he is but clubs that claim to be big clubs can't. It's not like he's just alright, he's clearly and unambiguously absolute quality. If I was involved with any club that was aiming for promotion to the Premier League this season he would have been at the very top of my shopping list. The very first player on there. And he would have been very high up if I was involved with any Premier League club outside the top 6.
I always said he was the complete package. The trick has always been keeping him fit. We created absolutely nothing last season, and he spent a good third of the season injured, and he still managed to score 7 goals out of nothing. Up there with Kieffer Moore and Sam Winnall as the best strikers we've had since Bruce Dyer.
