It's probably aimed at overseas buyers tbh. Might be cheaper to get it delivered through ebay than the local british shop prices?

I think its a trick used by people when things are out of stock - rather than delist the item then need to add it back just change the price to something no sensible person would buy at. If someone is daft enough then they can buy them from elsewhere and then flog them on and still make a profit

Branston’s are the best but their new branding is terrible.

Might be some Dropshipping going on. So for example you know where you can get an item for a fiver that isn't in your possession and so list it on Ebay for £10. Should someone pay that to you for the item you go to the website you can get it for a fiver and simply change delivery address when you order it. It's a way people make money selling things without having them on hand and to avoid having to package and post it themselves.

Nah, it's easier to pause a listing than it is to change the price.

It's more than likely simply that that's what it costs to package and post it.

£4 to £4.50 in shops so more than likely £3ish for a smaller seller to be buying them for in smaller bulk quantities. A box and associated packaging is about 50p. Postage around £5.50 if using royal mail. Then there's eBay fees.

We sell a large tin of beans on Amazon and despite the fact that through regular sales methods we knock them out at about £3 I think, on Amazon to break even we sell them for £10 and make less than 50p profit.
