    Once again he is caught up in a lie. He never had the votes or he would have run, he doesn’t care about anybody else except himself. All those MPs that said he was going run, even Victorian boy Mogg less than 2 hours ago, should be ashamed and hopefully they will never be near a ministerial position ever again.

    He just had to meddle and make the Tories even more of an embarrassment. He could have let them try and regain a bit of credibility by rallying around one MP but no, he came and stirred a hornet’s nest.

    Remarkable.Even though he's got 102 nominations and so would have qualified for a vote from the rabid membership who would have without doubt elected him, he's stepped down in the interests of the country. What a man.

    I know this is in jest, but have we not learned anything from the Jo Cox incident. Violence towards politicians should not be tolerated or even joked about.

    Calling him a floppy haired lovely person, and wanting to never see him anywhere near a political office is fine though.

    Politically, he has done exactly that - he drove himself to a forest and beat himself around the head with a shovel and pulled out when he only got 60 nominations leaving his supporters to take the flak. Like Zahawi who published an article on one of the broadsheet websites at 9pm last night saying that Johnson 2.0 would be a great leader - only for Johnson to pull out 1 minute later...
