Went to the beach on Sunday, absolutely wild at this time of the year! Quickly retreated to a restaurant!
Nice. We're in Verona. There is no world without Verona walls, But purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence banished is banish'd from the world, And world's exile is death. Especially Oakwell". Billy Shakespeare.
Only arrived yesterday. Flying out after a week near Lisbon, just because the tickets were a lot cheaper. But I'm really glad we dropped in as the city seems fantastic. I'll let you know what we take in today, but dinner yesterday evening was wood fired pizzas and craft beers, which you can never go wrong with. Loads of street cafés near our hotel, so off out for breakfast quite soon, then going to have a walk along the river. It certainly seems like one of those cities which you can enjoy by just walking around and soaking it in.
I only spent a pound watching that load of rubbish on tv. Didn't drive 100 miles. Didn't get back home at 11.15pm feeling miserable. Win win. Or should that be lose lose. Still felt miserable.
I've never been to Verona. But even if it's like Venice, where they appeared not to have updated any of the sewage systems since Shakespeare's day, I'm sure it's still a trillion times better than being at Oakwell last night.
Mine stopped working yesterday. This is looking sinister. Like the beginning of a Steven King story. Next it'll be the washing machines....
