We need a new CEO for the next transfer window. The current one has failed in too many of them to trust him with another. The longer we stay in this league, the harder it is to get crowds up and make more money.
Keith Hill played like that, lots of good possession and pass Stats but lose 2 nil. Teams just sit back snd counter attack. The only way to have success in the EFL is through the high press and attacking football. All coaches know how to do the low and middle block, now. For some reason he has changed the pattern of play and not just because of Luke Thomas injury. Up till then, they would score 2 or 3 goals a game, be dangerous from set pieces with Connell's delivery. The squad isn't good enough to play slow possession based football. Just my opinion not a fact and I don't know anything about football really.
Supporters need to quickly come to the realisation that we’re in this league for the long haul, it’s going to get worse in terms of results, crowds, atmosphere (how bad was last night?) & revenue. We are tinpot, there are National league sides run better. It will get better at some point. We might have a decent cup run or two. But as for challenging for promotion, it’s going to take a lot of rebuilding.
Even though we only stayed up right at the death under Struber, the results that season after he took charge were those of a mid-table team. We had 9 points from 16 games when he took over, then proceeded to take 40; points from the next 28 games. Also, we did play some attractive football when he was in charge. I think the combination of reasonable results and football worth watching was pretty good during his time.
People keep saying this but how do we know? How do we know that with the cards he was given he hasn’t outperformed with what he had? The answer is we don’t really know either way, if stories were coming out saying we missed out on X, Y & Z because of his inability to do, then fair enough. I agree that some of the stuff he has done doesn’t fill with confidence.
He was a bit too keen on a draw for my liking. I think Covid helped us out too, that break came at the right time after lacklustre performances against the wendies and was it Cardiff?
We played too well in the first few games of the season to get to 6 wins 2 draws and 3 defeats for Duff to be crap. The injury to Thomas has f cuked us good and proper. People can say "well a good manager can adapt or have a plan B". He has a plan B it's what he's operating now. There's no one else to come in and change our fortunes on the pitch. He's stuck with what he's got. He's doing a great job for me. What we're seeing now is what we had under Poya when he first came before the loan signings came in. Playing defensively and just trying to stay organised because there isn't anyone to drive us forward. It will most likely be odd goal wins, 0-0 bore draws and odd goal defeats until January.
Win our next 3 games and he’ll be the best gaffer in the world again. Some fans literally make judgement game by game.
I wouldn't say we're playing defensively. We were barely in our half first half, we were just a bit useless at fashioning meaningful attempts on goal. We didn't need anyone to drivers forward, we were already there.
