If we compared this seasons to stendels 2018 squand and combined the 2 squads to make a best 11 would any of the 2022 squad feature in yours? It would be a no from me.

Just a few posters the other day suggested on paper we have one of the best squads in the league so i thought it could be a interesting comparison.

Looking back the 2018 squad was far too good for league one

All day long for me. I think he's severely underrated by some of our fans mate. The amount of points hes saved us is criminal, the past couple of years his save xG % is amongst best in the league, at one point in championship he was top for months and months when we were performing

Davies was a very good keeper for us named in the league 1 team of the season his save away at pompey in front of 2k reds was pivitol in the promotion. I like collins but its a tough one davies for me.

I liked Davies too, I just think Collins has done a lot more for us, and he can play sweeper keeper perfectly, and he's playing in a much worse team. No issue having any though

Definatly although we had to get a record amount of points to gain promotion as pompey ran us close. I think comparing the 2 teams gives people a good idea how far this squad is from challenging for promotion.

Not a lot in it but I’d have Anderson over Lindsay.

Jordan Williams is better all round than Cavare but has a shocking injury record.

Pinillos & Thiam weren’t great but we play wing backs currently & don’t play wingers so hard to argue either way.

Davies at his best is better than Collins in my opinion but it’s hard to forget the long period he had where his form was all over the place after the Winnall error.

Moore, Woodrow, Mowatt, Pinnock are clear picks.

I was thinking about anderson over lindsay. Quite shocked you said it as i remember you been a big lindsay fan at the time.

I rate them both & don’t think there’s much in it but I think you’d go Anderson over Lindsay with him been right footed alongside Pinnock.

IMHO Andersen is a better player than Lindsay, but the partnership Lindsay had with Pinnock worked extremely well. Similarly, I rate Collins highly but Davies was outstanding that season. We conceded just 39 goals in 46 games which I believe was the best defensive record in the football league and only bettered by Man City and Liverpool in the Premier League. Was it a club record number of clean sheets too?

None of this lot would get anywhere near.

we had the best squad in the league by miles. It was only Morais being inept that got us relegated.

That doesn’t mean Morecambe, Exeter or Lincoln have better squads than us though.

Collins over Davo, as much as it pains me.

    Connell over Dougall.

    Andersen over Lindsay.

    Cundy over Jackson.

Other than that, the 2018 squad was as good a squad we could have hoped for in League 1
