Definitely January 1997. It was the day before our daughter’s christening and she’s 26 now. Not really sure why I remember that fact to be honest lol.
Correct, 11 Jan 1997. Then they knocked us out of the Cup two weeks later with Sinclair's famous overhead kick (I wasn't at that game though).
I was sitting at the home end with some QPR mates for that game. I remember saying, before Redders took his free-kick just outside the area, 'He'll score. It's as good as a penalty.' And he did. Top corner. I recall the dreadful tackle by Spencer, which ended Steve Davis' season. It was two-footed and straight into his tib and fib , nowhere near the ball. It took place on the touch line and Davis ended up being treated off the pitch, as I recall and that could be the only reason why play continued without any sanction against Spencer, who went on to score a hat trick, making it even more galling, as he showed on his fingers the goal count as one, two and three went in. He wouldn't have got away with it today, but he shouldn't have then either and wouldn't have, in my opinion, had play had to be stopped with Davis on the pitch. Good to see Steve in the Wolves dug-out, albeit temporarily, I would think. Good player. Steady defender.
you missed an sh from the front of your 4th word The account reads like a parody account but unfortunately I think he is serious - Find it hard to believe he is married - not sure I would want a wife who would actually go with that load of tripe - I know mine certainly wouldnt - havent dared show her his tweets in case she thinks I might be suggesting something
His posts take me back to my History class when we covered the fifties and austerity after the war through to the Coronation in 1953. The man is stuck in the past. What's more his beliefs don't tie in for someone of his age. He seems like he's been brainwashed to me.
I’d say pampered more than brainwashed tbh , been getting too much of his own way growing up and being a bit of a **** personality leads you to these views of his imo.
Sadly for Gavin Peacock, my missus rules this house and I wouldn't dare. Seriously though - and I do appreciate that there are many ways to hold yourself in life - I can't get my head around views like those held by Peacock here. However, it's not simple for me when trying to get my head around the non-gender stuff either. I just leave folk to do as they do, so long as they're happy and aren't hurting anyone. There are much older folk than I on this forum, so they'll feel this even more strongly than I do, but I was brought up in the 80's and looking back, there's been a lot of progress when it comes to accepting/tolerating/appreciating others. There's some way to go, still.
