Looking to get kids a Switch for Xmas but I understand there are quite a few different versions.

We want an actual console, not just handheld, but I believe with some it can be both?

If anyone can talk me through them that'd be great!

Get the Switch console about 250 from most shops - The Switch Lite is the handheld version which is 199. There is a more expensive console about 305 which has an OLED screen

The switch console with the Dock can be taken out and used as a handheld. The switch lite is smaller and just handheld.
It's worth paying the extra for the console version especially if you wanting kids to play together on it. If you find any online and want to check it's the right one DM me a link and I'll be happy to talk you through it.
