From a purely football point of view at this stage I cannot muster any interest at all ,but having said that I will no doubt end up watching some of it & might even enjoy it ,but to be totally honest I much prefer watching league football to international football , I find it mainly pedestrian bordering on boring however the patriotic side of me always wants England to do well but if they are poor & fail miserably it doesn"t bother me one bit . I actually think my apathy towards the competition is because of when it is being played not where it is being played , it is going to disrupt the league programme like never before & to me the world cup in the summer is when it should be played .
No issues with your thoughts on Qatar ‘22. Just wondered why it would be “just like England” to win a tournament that leaves a bad taste/isn’t exciting/isn’t regarded as valid? Where’s the precedent for this? Hence “was ‘66 a snoozefest?”
Really good to see Leah Williamson's comments re World Cup compared to Gary Neville prostituting himself on behalf of Qatari broadcasting.
Here we go, beer banned at stadiums for the poor folk , only two days before the start https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/63674631.amp
Done well for himself since being a Sky Sports reporter. It's a shame he probably felt pressured to come out to try and show Qatar in a better light by him just being there.
