Me neither. Gutted on the day and time has not diminished the feeling. Barnard’s penalty or Hristov’s header goes in and history almost certainly rewritten.
So almost halfway through the season, Rochdale, who were in the top half of division 3 had only scored 4 goals at home.
Great time to watch us, good home support on a regular basis good football. Unlucky not to be promoted ipswich had our number though.
Longest journey home after a match ever. I had to do it alone as all the people I was at the match with lived down south, so was tube & train back up to Leeds. I did have a welcoming committee when I got back, which was mostly my Leeds mates, who had been rooting for us. Ended up at a club & and after party. Was a tough game, as if Barnard's pen went in I'm convinced we would have won it. Bittersweet, but more bitter than sweet. Fine margins, etc...
I doubt I will - only football match I ever watched at the old Wembley I still remember how gutted I felt on the Tube back into the centre of London Fortunately the New Wembley has happier memories ( Cardiff aside)
The 20/21 disappointment was nothing compared to the one in 99/00. I was gutted at the time but I barely think about the 20/21 season. Whether it's because I thought we were lucky to be where we were, not good enough or punching above our weight and it was a happy flash in the pan I don't know. Whereas the 99/00 disappointment has lived with me for 22 years. What a strange world we live in.
