what's the point of industrial action, if it doesn't cause disruption? isn't that the very point? it's a real fkn ball ache to people, no doubt - but blame the right people

Can't put posts like you have on here and get upset when people disagree with it and form an opinion of you.

With respect Stephen its nowt to do with you voting tory.
I don't think anyone on here doesn't have any sympathy on here re those inconvenienced.
Just the fact of where we (some of us) believe the real reason lies. And that after yersterdays announcements. Is not the workers or their representatives.
According to Mick lynch on GMB ( whether true or not NYR you choose) from the employers on a phone call to the unions on saturday. there were things to be put on the table to discuss. Nothing has been put in writing. Those discussions were stopped by the DoT.
Either those negotiating or the DoT appear to be lying in my view. Hence their absence from the media.
Mick lynch has nothing to gain and everything to lose regarding his integrity if lying.

Yeah it's one of those where I've shot from the hip and then been embarrassed reading the thread back.

That wasn't the intention though. It was frustration at yet more bad news than anything else. Just a throw away comment.

If the Govt handled our money in a fair and honest way there would be plenty. Paying our money to oil and gas companies is dishonest. Reducing bank tax from 8% to 3% is dishonest. Just 2 examples. The govt are looking after their supporters at the expense of the people. Its time that stopped.

Not true. There's plenty of money it's just not where it should be.

Why do I suspect that if the UK public had the opportunity to ban striking, a large, blue voting section would go for it?

The whole point of a strike is meant to inconvenience.
