A FREE Day at the races. I have 2 tickets for the Doncaster races on Friday. My wife is unable to attend so I can take someone in her place. The ticket is for the County Enclosure which normally costs £34 and there is a dress code which is "The dress code in the County Enclosure encourages you to dress up for your day, including a collared shirt for gentlemen - strictly no jeans, sportswear or trainers are allowed."
The course opens at 10 and the first race is at 12. Last race is 3.30 so there's plenty of time to get back for the England match. Travelling from S73 8QW Wombwell.
PM me if anyone is interested. No P*ss heads.

Laura's Dad's a strict 4 pints in the afternoon. Back to the hotel, sleep, shower, 4 pints at night and go for a kebab or sit down Indian type of bloke.

Went on two racing trips to Ascot and Goodwood with him. It was fun seeing his face as I was downing pints in the George in Staines before we went to an evening meeting at Newbury.

" You're not coming with me pissed up". "Show me up you'll not come again".

Nowt to do with drink but when I'm at races you'll see me before first race and after last because I like to keep myself to myself when there's money riding on it.

Hate it when someone bigs up a horse I fancies chances. To me I love it when I pick a horse nobody else fancies. They can't jinx it then. Same goes for wannabe tipsters. I steer well clear.

Even stopped watching morning show and mute Sky coverage because if Rishi Persad, Dave Nevison or Alex Hammond pick it. It's running sideways or backwards.

Agree with most of what you say there, Mr D! I think the pundits are largely clueless. I'd make an exception for Jason Weaver.

I certainly agree that racing and drinking don't mix. I'm either doing one or t'other. When Lady Kaht last accompanied me to Donny races in September last year we were charged £26 for two large G & T's. I laughed at first because I thought it was a joke!

I like Weaver too. Was it him that used the term "talking horses" about horses that got rave reviews in spite of doing very little? Anyway he picks out sometimes left field selections at longer odds based on form lol. Doesn't do bad with it. It's a shame Get In doesn't cover better meetings than Wolverhampton and Newcastle.

I tried giving it away outside the track but everyone I asked had tickets. I needed a toilet, so I had to go in with an unused ticket. I won them so I didn't have to pay anything. At £34 a ticket I wouldn't pay for that. It was my first National Hunt Meeting and a horse being put in the horse ambulance after the very first race put a damper on it for me. People there only seem interested in gambling and boozing. A woman was sat near me for one race had a child about 10 with her. I couldn't help over hearing a comment she made, " I'll have to put £50 on the next race to make up for the money I've lost." I didn't intend to have a flutter until the 2nd or 3rd race but my selection won the first. That blown it I thought and didn't have a bet. I'm more interested in the horses than gambling or boozing.
