    Absolutely. In an age where players over 32 are struggling to find teams as they have no resale value, a 37 year old Ronaldo is obviously going to go and play in a league where he's picking up £500m. He's not getting offers anything like that from elsewhere.

    I've no doubt that's played a part in his thinking. He seems to have this desire to out score Messi, and what easier way to do it than in a league where he'll probably score at least a goal a game.

    Is there any wonder governments are kicking and screaming to not go carbon free. The kick backs they must be taking must be imense, when countries can pay such as this for a has been footballer.

    think despite him winning the civil case against him for rape as he’d already agreed a non disclosure settlement the actual assault allegation is still on file and unresolved so he may not fancy the US

    I'm not sure it will be. He will know they're not paying for his sporting ability, they're paying for him as a reputation laundering tool. €4m a week and as much journalist mince as he can eat.
