The point is if someone could hear it from the family stand then any stewards behind the goal definitely heard it so why didn’t they find the ring leaders and chuck em out? Only need to chuck s few out and maybe they’ll shut up. The point is you then have evidence that you actually don’t tolerate sexist and racist chanting rather then just saying it.

There’s people trained and employed specifically to do that. Maybe they should do their job properly rather than you expecting a paying fan to do it for free?

It’d be pretty obvious if it was one lone voice who to chuck out. It’d be lovely to think it was a plant but in reality it’s obviously not.

You seriously suggest people should confront these idiots in the Ponty? How do you think that’s gonna end?

As suspected the fine is because the panel found no evidence that the club had actually implemented the action plan from the last fine at all. The club provided zero evidence

Attended the Peterborough game last night and a mature Barnsley male got quite rightly removed. He must have shouted for at least 15 to 20 minutes of abuse to the Peterborough manager from about 50 m away. He would have been better encouraging the Barnsley players! Their manager gave him the thumbs up sign, perhaps indicating to the male that you are on borrowed time!! Then shortly after about 6 stewards and a policeman arrived and quietly removed the fan. Some of the males' colleagues complained about the stewards behaviour! I thought that they acted well and would expected the same result if a Peterborough male or female shouted abuse at Barnsley FC staff. I hope that the male gets banned from Oakwell.

"We warn the Club in strong terms as to the consequences of any further breach of FA Rule E20 especially by discriminatory language or behaviour of its supporters or followers. There will come a time, perhaps not in the distant future, when an Independent Regulatory Commission will conclude that the appropriate sanction will include playing a fixture/s behind ‘closed doors’."

Yes I do ! If you can type on here and call them derogatory names you should be able to do it to their faces ! The poster is expecting some low paid steward to do it !

I'm not talking about whether or not people 'dare'. I'm talking about the potential outcome if people did. We both know the reality if that happened. At best they would get told to fck off and carry on - nothing solved. At worst there would be bother - which we would then get another fine for.

Stewards are paid to do that. That's exactly what their job is. You seem to be suggesting the stewards just stand there and do nothing, while fans steam in and battle it out amongst themselves? Stadium closed within 6 months.

No I’m not at all . What I’m suggesting is the offending fans would most likely be less confrontational with their own fans than some spotty 21 year old or a lass who’s done a 4 hour slideshow presentation and gets 30 quid for the day . I’m sure you have seen the stewards this year . They are not all 6 foot and hard as nails you know . As for getting the ground shut down that’s just silly talk

it's not silly talk at all. refer you to the quote from supertyke. we're already being warned that if we don't get our act in order, tougher sanctions might include playing behind closed doors. suggesting our own fans take matters into their own hands - that seems sillier to me, than the prospect of something we've actually just been warned about

That’s literally the low paid steward’s job. What BFC choose to pay them has no bearing on that.

Is it their job to be abused and potentially be attacked. Going on your assumption the nurses and various others that are going on strike should get on with the job.
How would you feel if that was your daughter and son? Do you know the
Stewards don’t even get a cup of tea

If someone attacks them then the police should be called in. Again, them not getting a cup of tea is a BFC problem, not a reason for them to not do their job. What do you think is the correct solution? If you don’t want them to approach anyone breaking the rules, what’s the point employing them? Is your thinking that the correct course of action is that a fan should get involved? Why not pay fans to be plain clothed stewards, then?

I'd say, it's their job to control that situation, if they can't and things look like they are gonna get out of hand, then that's what the police are there for, and let's face it, there's always plenty of them there, on overtime at Oakwell.

Not sure I follow the logic that you've extrapolated there.

Whilst that's rough, I'm guessing as their shift is under 4 hours they're not entitled to a break?

My point is there’s posters on here or think it’s okay for young lads and lasses to confront young men who are probably half cut . Look at the new stewardship at the club . It looks about effective as dads army . Majority of the staff are foreign and are bussed in . The club puts out the statement but does not have correct staff in place. I can only guess what the wages are and the qualifications and experienced required for these stewards

No posters on here saying that. There are posters saying it should be the stewards and police job to deal with crowd disorder, not other fans.
