Went to see them at City Hall last night, was absolutely blown away. A proper show, three hours, four costume changes, loads of banter between each other and the audience, all in character. The accuracy is scary. Not once do you think that you're listening to a tribute or covers band. From the first chords of Please Please Me to the final medley of late career album cuts, you're at a Beatles concert. Just one complaint - the stewards, ushers or whoever they are were an absolute bunch of killjoy jobsworths. No standing, no dancing, no fun. Including children. Not enough to remotely spoil the evening, but completely unnecessary.

That wasn't the case here. Everyone in the audience was really respectful towards each other. People who were standing in the back rows were being told to sit down.
The Upbeat Beatles are at the Civic on the 17th of this month. Well worth seeing if you like the Beatles.
Saw them in Paisley a few months back, shorter set but really good. Saw a couple of them beforehand in the chippy owned by Paulo Nutini's family who they know.
Blimey, they played at my University graduation party in 1991. They must be getting on a bit, unless they've trained up some younger looking dudes.
I went to see the Bootleg Beatles a few years ago in Liverpool, they were superb also the Mrs went to see the “original Drifters”, I did say they were about as original as Triggers broom
The members have evolved over time. The Wikipedia page is a good read. I saw at City Hall Christmas show about 15 years ago then again about a decade ago. Then say outdoors at Sheffield Botanical Garden about five years ago where I was able to persuade my young lad it was the real ones. He was a huge fan then especially if John. Still trying to shield him for the 1980 event! I then took him to see Paul McCartney with guest Ringo at London in 2018. Our seats were same row as Ringo/Barbara, Adam Clayton (U2 not Boro), Rami Malek and Ronnie Wood (who also got on stage with Ringo). The person in the seat next to us changed from Roger Daltrey to Olivia Harrison and Stella McCartney. Surreal. When Macca played Something I smiled at Olivia (ok it was not about her) and she smiled back. Unrepeatable. Seen the Upbeat Beatles at Civic before. Not as polished.
I was there there they were great a few equipment problems in the first set but other than that Wow and to finish with golden slumbers
Ask 1000 bands if they would prefer people up at the front getting involved, or sat down tapping their feet and munching their hob nobs.
I've seen them at Doncaster Races. Hard to judge how good they were because I like anything Beatles if that makes sense.
That's why you have standing areas. Unfortunately I can't stand or dance for a whole concert any longer but I would like to see something of it.
I think if you're a huge fan of the band you'll judge any tribute act even more harshly. The supposed number 1 REM tribute band played in Lincoln the other week, and two views on YouTube were enough to convince me not to bother. We went to Queen and Adam Lambert a few years back and whilst Brian and Roger were fantastic, the whole show had a slightly empty feel. The horrible weather didn't help, mind. But last night was absolutely mind-blowing. Literally every aspect was spot on.
