The regs for European club matches are 100-105m long by 64 -68m wide so Wolves would just have sneaked in. Maybe John Dennis though we might host a few Euro matches.
I heard that they couldn't have the North Stand any closer to the pitch because it would have covered over the true location of the treasure of Oak Island. Thankfully, even though Paul Conway got wind of it, they managed to convince him that the treasure was somewhere else. And that's the real reason for holes appearing in the West Stand.
Didn't Man City use Oakwell for an European game when their ground was being used for a concert or something?
Anybody get what Michael Owen was on about when we played Man Utd in the cup a few years back? He said he'd played at Oakwell before and he still thought that the pitch was on an incline? Never noticed it myself like but I've not been running about on the pitch.
