@Tarntyke. I take what you post to me on any thread with a pinch of salt because it's obvious you think I'm a ***** and the feelings mutual. You're on ignore with all your virtue signalling, condescending bully mates.

This might sound a bit blunt, but working tax credits were brought in for the right reasons (originally) but are now being used by employers as a subsidy to what they should be paying.

In reality, if a business struggles to operate without such subsidies (many can make no mistake) then maybe the business isn't viable.

As they are means tested benefits for employees, they should be means tested in some way for employers. Based on turnover etc

Slight deviation to the thread, I know.

Everyone when it comes to it looks after number one, and apart from a few who look at the bigger picture, is a sad state of affairs that these arguments crop up every time a Tory government is in charge.

The Tories are masters at getting folk to argue and turn on each other.

And there lies the issue. Your business can't afford a pay rise in line with inflation.
Difference is, lots of industries are raking off the profits to give to shareholders. I worked in the water industry and have seen profit put before making sure the assets work, running a risk management strategy that has had disastrous consequences, leading to massive fines because of pollution of our rivers. Millions of litres of water leaking from supply every day. ( putting on water bans)
It is the most inefficient industry you could possibly imagine. Sections of the workforce without work, not because it isn't there, but because of massive mis management. (Lots of us did work that didnt follow the mismanagement process to prevent pollution etc cos we'd **** all else to do and cos we had a concience) Seriously, you couldn't make it up.
The money is/was there to pay decent wages and run efficiently. And look after the assets. But years of paying out massive dividends has come back to bite em on the arse and now they are in panic mode trying to right the wrongs of the past and pleading poverty. Glad I'm out of it now. It's a fecking shambles.

"I'm not selfish" says man who had a strop about an entire industry bargaining for better pay and conditions because it causes him personal inconvenience.

Good little bootlicker. Just open a bit wider and I'm sure they'll let some trickle down onto you any day now...

I don't think it would be selfish of them to demand it and to look elsewhere if they don't get it, given that they're not asking for an increase in real terms but just to tread water.

But you’re describing a different scenario. Rail companies aren’t small local businesses that are struggling to get by, they’re making fortunes with the added bonus that a lot of their risk is mitigated by the government. Similarly Royal Mail are wanting to cut jobs and wages while their CEO earns 6k per month.

Can I just say I have never voted Tory and i voted remain . That does not make me a
There is a lot of bullying on here, the majority is from the same people . They don’t get a ban though .
Like I say , very angry men who if they cannot belittle you with their beliefs they then can you a racist or scum . It’s no wonder barnsley gets no favours from the tories when you have the vitriol aimed at them still .
However, before these people reply to this I am just going to say, I have never voted Tory and I voted to stay in Europe .

I don’t have mates on this board, in fact there’s only One poster on here that I know and speak to. I do not bully but I often call out what I perceive to be stupid, ill- informed posts etc, etc. I don’t really pay attention to much of your posts, but I do get involved with a lot of the political stuff, particularly when the ordinary working folk are being attacked unfairly. If you take what I post with a pinch of salt then you wouldn’t have posted this in the first place, lol

Tories get vitriol because of the utter contempt shown towards us. Decades of it. Generations of it. Arguably centuries. Show me a period where Barnsley has benefitted from Tory leadership. THEY have done the damage. Not us.

Yes, Barnsley gets no favours from the Tories because of this board lol. The I’m alright Jacks of this world never fought for and won anything, yet they often benefit from the results of those that do stand up and fight. Get over yourself with the bullying claptrap. This post demonstrates the shallow thinking that you post on a regular basis.

I was on about this the other day, people need to remember what’s gone on before, not just this round of pay talks, also, let’s not forget it isn ‘t just about money

So how long is this going to go on? Your not damaging yourself , your damaging the likes of my children and other young aspirational kids . People like you want to keep kids in the billy casper mould just so you can continue your worthless time consuming agenda against anything that does not conform to left wing idealogy! I’ve have mates like that and I think they are pathetic also

Or if somehow you have done something positive it must do minuscule, because as you say, Barnsley as not received any favours .

Do you think the kids of today give a **** about what went on in the 80’s? Mine certainly know nothing about it . They have no need to . I want them to look forward and not have the Tory scum attitude . Your probably the kind of person that screams wholeheartedly when fans chant scab at Forrest games

    Another Tory line there Mick.

The Tories don't like aspiration, it's the opposite. Most Tories were born into wealth, and therefore they ideologically don't want working class people moving up the ladder; it's a myth. This is why they don't sort out VAT & Charitable Status on Private schools, this is why they don't close tax loopholes for the rich. They make it impossible to reach the levels that they live in, unless you are uber talented or creative. It's a ruse to make people think that the 'American/British Dream' exists.

Hard work and skill can give you a better life, but it won't put you even in the top 10% of this country, if you are ethnic it's even harder. Nobody on this board wants to keep kids in the mould of Billy Casper, thats mental to even suggest. What people want is a fair society, where the difference between having a decent living and a roof over their heads, rather than the Rich getting absolutely caked in wealth.

The last decade of reasonable growth and a modicum of society was in the 90s. Blair was a lot of things, and I'm not a massive fan, but it was definitely a far better country domestically and internationally than it is now. This isn't about left or right, its about the country that we live in, being corrupt and shafting the working classes to such an extent that we will have millions of kids in poverty to this extent for the first time since the 1940s.

So what’s the plan? Pandering to Tory rule, in the hope you eventually get some crumbs from the table?

Parts of the ‘Red Wall’ went Tory and got Johnson into power. He vowed to not let them down and promised to repay their trust. How did that go?

Again, you’re making some pretty sweeping statements about ‘people like me’, and even accusations of so-called damage I’m doing to your kids. You’re basing that on no information whatsoever. You have zero awareness of the contribution I make to society.

It’s one thing to ignore the tories “screwing their grandad over” it’s quite another to ignore the tories screwing your kids over right at the very moment.
