This is the reason I'd never buy a ticket on the gate - I wouldn't mind the price hike on the day, but you always get the worst seat available, because it's the 'easiest' way to sell them.

I'll also add that anyone using the dodgy stream isn't ever doing it as an alternative to being there, if they didn't have the stream, they're not suddenly going to pay twenty odd quid plus travel to the ground. In the same way that taping the charts wasn't an alternative to buying 30 records.

You can always move seats when you see empty ones ,trouble is match as to start first when everyone is in. Plenty of empty seats lately.

There’s plenty now but that’s not always been the case.

Might have averaged but you look back mate...... we didn’t get 10,000 fans for run o mill games till after Charlton match...... a lot started to go after that match for glory games .....as is what usually happens pal!

We've very rarely averaged above 15k in our entire history and that's with teams we had late 70's early 80's

In my day it was a Science Block.

btw I didn't attend due to the weather and being in possession of a stinking cold.

Interestingly our average gate when we got promoted from the championship to the premier league was not much more than we average now but i find people who go on about gates are the ones who are not actually attending , a certain irony there me thinks !

Was my first home game of the season yesterday, great to get another win and the clean sheet was fab but apart from several decent phases of play (including both goals) well to be honest I was quite bored. Now Burton Albion were woeful, appreciate we had some sickness running though the squad too which can't have helped matters but I don't know whether that's similar to what's been served up in other games home games...perhaps others can elaborate? Maybe I'm expecting too much but this division really does look awful barring a few clubs near the top.
I've seen highlights from all other games but I don't remember it being this bad last time we were at this level.

The atmosphere was awful, didn't seem like there was 9k in there but as has been mentioned already, close to Xmas, people are skint, it's been freezing, illnesses / winter bugs and train strikes as well all probably contributed to a lower attendance. And Burton Albion's following was shocking.

For what it’s worth Lincoln average for last few years has been around 9k but this season is just over 8k.
For full comparison their official maximum is around 10k but they never get more than just over 9k due to parts of ground closed due to segregation.

This is me too guys. I didn't get a ST this season because of financial implications. I have a young family now (3 kids all younger than 10) and I just couldn't afford it. I like you @fired enjoy the freedom I now have. I listen to commentaries, watch online and also make sure I watch the extended highlights from all of our matches. Yesterday was the first game of the season for me but at times I was just bored! Perhaps a combination of the shocking atmosphere and the not so great spectacle on the pitch! Don't get wrong, it was a superb result and I think Duff is doing an excellent job but maybe I'm expecting too much!

Didn't look anything near 9000+ as looked very spartan even in the Pony End. I would guess 7500 myself. Week before Christmas has always been poorly attended. Boxing day usually brings a good crowd but sadly we are away this year.

Yeah, I want to make it clear I wasn't criticising Lincoln's attendance (I hadn't even checked it), they just happened to be the first league 1 team I came across with a similar population to ours. I guess there's other factors which impact attendance too! Lincoln have been on an upward trajectory for a few years, but appear to have reached a ceiling at present, which could cause a drop off. Our attendance doesn't seem to have dropped off too much, despite the quite vocal protests last season towards the outgoing board members (both of whom do still have a stake in the club as far as I'm aware), but would definitely be boosted again by promotion. I guess Lincoln would have quite an appealing atmosphere too considering their capacity isn't much more than their average gate, whereas our stadium is less than half full in a regular basis. Performances on the pitch of course have an impact too, as does the weather/time of year.

These were the prices for Burton game .
Of course a half season ticket works out cheaper and can be bought in interest free instalments[IMG]
