They have invested because we would be in admin otherwise . If they sell in the next window after what duff as achieved so far, it would be disastrous.

I agree. They won't sell any extra tickets then. In fact it would be last straw for a few when we're gunning for promotion. This squad isn't strong enough to sell anyone in January.

I would suggest Collins as well maybe as a sellable asset.
But yeah I agree with the fact that if they did try to just make it a cheap undisclosed fire sale again. That might be the final straw for some fans, when you look at the good position Duff's players have put us in.

Investment of circa £4.2m has come in because without it the club would have been in admin.

The investment also settled the dispute with the owners with the £2.75m owed to Oakwell Holdings being paid in to Barnsley Football Club now being payable to Oakwell Holdings when affordable.

The club is not awash with cash, it has been operating on a budget beyond revenues. That’s why the cash was needed and why change in the operating model was required. When the board changes happened I don’t think Neerav could have been any clearer in the way forward.

For all the finger pointing at the massive club down the road not living within their means that’s exactly what has gone on at BFC just on a much smaller scale. They just happen to have an owner who could afford £100m of support.

Will we keep operating at year on year losses in League 1 though?

What happens once we've been in League 1 with players that no one wants?

That clearly won't be this season but could you see anyone being sold other than Anderson or Collins?

What then? Unless they sell up they're going to have to put money in.

What, in summary, is the operating model? I assume that the aim is still stability in the Championship. How do they propose to achieve that?

Spending money in January doesn’t guarantee promotion, but it does show the board care about results & want us to play in the highest league possible, plus it shows the supporters they have some ambition. Otherwise what’s the point, & I for one won’t be renewing next season as Duff wont be around much longer if the return for his so far incredible work isn’t being backed & given the tools to do the job.

Yeah they need to back him with a striker and try to hang on to the team until at least the end of the season. It would be worth their while injecting a bit extra in January.

I am not sure there will be any money to spend at all , it is clear from what has been said on here that the board have had to put money in to save us from going under so I doubt that there will be any actual cash to spare, however we have been very successful in recent times with loans who also cost money but a Dike , or a McBurnie , Barnes type of player might just be the answer, but those deals can be difficult because many clubs in the same position as us are also competing to sign the same players , we shall see what happens , incidentally I thought at best this season we might finish top ten so choose what happens I think have done better than expected & making progress & I will have no hesitation in renewing my season ticket , but each to their own.

It's what next season will look like that concerns me.
