I went in once, and was shocked at the prices. don't remember seeing anything under 5.50 a pint. add to that where it was, against the backdrop of cost of living, it was never gonna work.
That’s the average price in the new part of town . It’s position right up there in between all the cheap pubs killed it .
That's such a shame it's closed. Only had chance to go in a couple of times living in the Midlands, was unique in the town in terms of serving tonnes of craft beer and I was looking forward to going over Christmas. They don't appear to have even announced it's closure, just deleted all social media and carried on with the Elsecar pages as if nothings happened.
Not enough custom (I agree location wasn't ideal), and were let down on their initial agreement to have use of the car park to hold events. Fuel bills came in after the price rises and they decided it wasn't worth continuing.
dunno mate, not been in for about 15 years. I'd be equally as shocked if it were 5.50 for a pint o carling in pin though.
