He was given OBE last year, so maybe he will be knighted within the next year or two? Maybe he has declined it for the time being, who knows?

I also don’t understand why some but not all of the England Women’s Football team got different awards. Surely all or none?

He’s already received a honour so can’t be nominated for another 5 years after

They said it's because they don't want to have to give out honours for people who played 5 minutes of a competition so don't do that anymore.

Makes sense. I wouldn't be giving gongs to players who bench warmed the whole tournament or played a few minutes here and there.

I expected more to get gongs than four though. All first team regulars should have got something.

I'd hazard a guess it's because he hasn't donated to a political party or bought some gold-threaded scatter cushions for the No.10 flat

Former Leeds Rugby League player, he's been raising massive amounts of money for Motor Neurone Disease research after his mate Rob Burrows was diagnosed with it.

At times the good guys are unfortunately ignored.

I agree, he should’ve been right up there with the Honours but equally, there’s a guy from Cleator Moor in Cumbria near me (in Whitehaven) called Gary McKee who has ran 365 marathons in 365 days. Kevin even done one of the days with Gary. Absolutely outstanding effort in raising over £1.000.000 for Macmillan Cancer West Cumbria and Hospice at Home West Cumbria. If anybody would like to donate then I believe you do so here.. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/threesixfive?fbclid=IwAR3kxpM42VbcVLOIEXYJrik2weVGz6IvZXNYHw7

    what a guy!

As has already been stated, they tend to not upgrade honours within five years.

It’s more of an unwritten rule but he only got his obe award 18 months ago in the 2021 birthday honours so they wouldn’t have considered it yet I don’t think. There were seven years between his mbe and obe.

He really should be knighted though. Rugby league isn’t my sport (he’s actually a union coach for England now), but his selflessness and determination need suitable reward. Really likeable guy.

If someone is an Earl and then is awarded an OBE would they then be known as EarlOBE?
