Perspective please. Unbelievable comments in this threa I don't post as often as I used to on here but no surprise to see the forum go into overload in criticising the team and staff when we lose just one game during which we put up a decent fight with 10 men for 80 minute Plus ca change.... We have the best manager we've had for years who has brought cohesiveness back into the playing squad and bonded a group of young lads over a period of 5 months who are developing into a force to be reckoned with; the like of which we've not seen since Val was here... ...and yet still the negativity persists and shouts at us when we lose one game. One game The pessimism on here at the start of the season had us just scraping mid table and we now sit in the top 6 with games in hand and with the top 4 still to come to oakwel Have a word with yourselves. We've lost one game of football today which would have turned out very differently had we not been at the sharp end of a **** refereeing decision. We'd have had another couple of points from Accrington had we not been at the sharp end of another **** refereeing decision there If you have 4 minutes listen to Michael Duffs post match interview Perspective Put things into perspective. We have a squad of players who actually care, motivated by a manager who understands us as fans and who is determined to do his best for the clu Let's be patient and get off their backs after a **** defeat I doubt the same negativity will be forthcoming if we won the next 5 game Perspective.
It’s what every lovely person who supports a football team says. Stop pretending it’s different just because you ready the Barnsley forum. Expecting a nice response where you tell me I’m a lovely person for being wrong about everything I’ve ever thought.
We are all around one another in the table, so you'd expect a more even record against them all. From those 7 games 10 points or more would have been OK.
There is more to the above post under "perspective" if anyone can give a ****. ****** up the formatting.
I’m sorry Daniel Stendel isn’t our manager anymore like you clearly want. But Michael Duff is our manager now, who seems like a brilliant manager.
Hard to blame the club for Jalo been on the bench. All of McCarthy, Edwards, Phillips, Aitchison, Thomas & Tedic out injured today. That’s a full bench minus the keeper. Any club at this level would end up with kids on the bench with 6 out injured. It’s just frustrating that several are long term.
Glad that you think there'll be some incomings - I just hope that the powers that be realise that there's a gap now until the Charlton game to get them in and integrated 'cos from the 21st there's 5 games in 15 days which we'll need them for and which will be vital to defining the season.
Seems a bit harsh to say I’m glad it’s that but I’m glad he hasn’t had a fall out with Duff or anything like that. Condolences to the lad if he’s lost someone close to him.
Listen to Michael's recent interviews, even today. We felt we had one striker through the door but his team have been forced to play him recently and now that's looking a dead end. So many moving parts. But the will is there. And I'm confident we'll have added another striker before Charlton away. Ideally, because Tedic looks a while away, we need two don't we? Ideally again, we need someone who's scored at this level previously and can slot into Duff's system. Let's see. Thomas might be fit by the end of the month too. Not a striker, but allows us to switch system, another string to the bow. We took Wednesday apart in that 3-4-3. I think we've done remarkably well in the first 23 games. If we can strengthen this month, we should fare similarly, or better in the next 23. Losing 3-0 at home is bound to cause consternation. I get it. But there's a tonne of context from today's game. I've said it already, but it's the easiest game of all time to just ignore, write off and move on from when you think about it. I'd rather focus on winning six and drawing one (that we should have won) of the previous seven. Maybe it's just my outlook on things, but I think we're in a decent and 'only able to get better' place. With a lovely FA Cup tie next up.
I agree stendel did well but had a miles better squad than this one. Not sure what the obsession is with ex managers returning it rarely works look at Wilsons 2nd spell. Duffs doing a great job long may it continue.
I think we are semi-violently agreeing. Duff has done ridiculously well in my view with the hand he was dealt in the Summer and it's because I rate him so highly that I firmly believe that if we do help him now we'll get the returns. So it's good that you think we'll have someone in soon. Whilst you're happy to write today off, it was an example for us of why we need to have some extra attacking options up our sleeves. Even with 10 and even at 2-0 down we came out well for the second half (as MD acknowledged) and looked the likeliest to score the third goal but once Duff understandably decided Norwood and Wolfe's races were run we fell flat as the subs just don't have that threat about them. I agree Thomas is a miss given his early season form. I'm less sold on Tedic tbh, but as you say he's injured and has a patchy fitness record anyway, which does mean the need up front is two in my view. And, yes, we all know from years of bitter experience that there are many moving parts and disappointments in transfer windows but many of us who experience similar (or even less well-defined) situations in business know that you have to deal with all the setbacks and still achieve the goal. You find a way to get what you need when you need it. Fingers crossed.
I am not surprised by todays match as when there is a important match something adversely happens. Our defense this season has been top notch - last three excluded. The only way the opposition would score is by a penalty, Micheal Duff is and will be a top class manager and today was just one of those games. Last season I fell out of love for my club as no one seemed to care. This season so far we have a manager, coaches, staff and young team who clearly care and want to achieve something this season so I look forward to what this season holds in store for us c.o.y.r
Perspective. At the beginning of the season we all expected games/results like Saturdays. We have outstripped all expectations so when we get a result like we all expected at the start of the season, it feels like a letdown. It’s testament to what the manager and players have achieved this season.
The last 80 minutes is easy to write off, but the first 10 was a concern. Our midfield was supposed to be our strength, but they were second to everything in that spell. Hopefully we don't start that slowly again.
