Yes you presume right mate. I never knew the price of the tickets. Just assumed they would be normal. Gobsmacked when I googled them. £150 seems to be the cheapest. No idea where our seats are. Well it had better be a good night.
I like Nickelback, but I can understand fans who don't, saying that they are very samey etc. And I always thought UB40 were like that, every song sounded like just another rehash of their previous ones.
I used to love going to see the big names all around the country but I wouldn’t pay that kind of price for anyone now. Disgraceful what they charge these days. Unbelievable that I got to see Floyd performing The Dark Side of the Moon at Sheffield City Hall (1973 I think) for a few quid and it was only around £15 or so to see their magnificent version of The Wall at Earls Court in 1980.
Never did get to see Floyd. You are so lucky to have done so. Ticket prices a bit like football prices. Getting out of hand. Got to say I didn’t realise my daughter loved me that much to shell out all that money on me.
It was just those two times, but proper iconic ones! I think Dark Side of the Moon had only just been released so it was really thrilling to be able to go and see that. The circular shape of the City Hall was perfect for the (then) novel idea of surround sound and the heartbeat effect that they opened the show with was stunning. Each beat made you turn your head to follow it around the hall! The Wall, though, was on a different level altogether with the massive construction across the stage, block by block, the band appearing through random gaps in the “wall” until the spectacular destruction of it brought the piece to an end. Proper musical theatre! Ps. I hope Roger is worth it!
The answer is Oasis. Bass player admitted he was the luckiest git ever, and Bonehead played bar chords the entire time. You can like it, but let’s not pretend they’re any good. PS quite enjoyed Definitely Maybe. Still basic.
Genesis for me. Especially after Gabriel left. Oh and Yes. One hit wonders only Wondrous Stories with listening to
It might be an unpopular view but Led Zep for me. I always thought they were too far up their own arses.
The answer here is clearly Queen. Absolute unadulterated monkey spunk. I would rather bum Chris Whitty than listen to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Muse Coldplay Stereophonics Oasis have aged very badly in my opinion, much worse than most of their contemporaries, but there are still some proper classics on the first two albums and within the b-sides of that era.
What about buммing Chris Whitty at the same time as listening to Bohemian Rhapsody, while a watching a Herbie Kane reel on YouTube?
I was at their Hyde Park free concert in 1977 (went to see Steve Hillage), left when Queen started....
