Agree. But Souza had more mistakes in him than most centre halves we've had in my lifetime. And imo was vastly overrated. I think the rest of his career pays testament to that. Donny offloaded him after 8 games.

He played in the Cup run when we reached the Semi’s so he wasn’t that bad.
Admittedly, he wasn’t our best CB but, besides our cup run , we had an average side.

I think I can recall the other one doing similar.

Just saying I think he was bigged up far better than he was. And average at best for me. Would struggle to make my top 20 centre backs to have played for the club in my time watching em. And that obviously has a bearing on my opinion. A position that has seen more quality players than any other tbf in my mind.

Funny old game football isn't it? I think the complete opposite of you. He doesn't do it as often, but that's because we don't play 1-1-8 like we did under Val. He's made a couple of mistakes, but so did Alisson & De gea over this past week. To me he seems even more composed after a couple of years experience. When he has the ball to feet and opposition is closing him down my heart is in my mouth, but he's yet to **** up. His passing still isn't fantastic but I'd suggest it's more consistent than what it used to be

I clearly got the wrong end of the stick, thought it was a first for me having a disagreement with someone who shares a similar opinion.

Can`t believe Kitching doesn`t get any flak for this, letting the ball come across the front of him and being unaware of what`s happening around him especially in the pressing game we see every week.

Another goal comes from playing out from the back. Managers eh.

It’s usually more than the keeper’s fault when this kind of goal is conceded. Walton could have made a different, safer pass, or he could have hoofed it down field. But dozy defenders need to be more aware as well (Cundy against Bolton was a shocking example).

It’s happening at the very highest level as well as much further down the pyramid. Yet coaches never come out and say “Ok, my fault. I told them to do that, but no more. That tactic is off the blackboard now”.

Kitching could have come to meet the ball and play it back to Walton that is if he knew what was happening around him.

Managers will keep it going whilst ever the top teams of the land play that way.
