sorry for your loss Mike. As a parent I can only try and emphasise and understand, but I don’t have the words to do it justice.
Thoughts are right with you, and certainly will be on minute 36.

So sorry to hear your terrible news. I have 2 sons who suffer from depression and anxiety and I see the effects it has on their day to day lives.
Fortunately for us their attempts to end it all failed but each day is an effort for them to get through. You have our heartfelt sympathy and it will be a honour to applaud James and to take the time to think of you as a family and what you are suffering at this sad time.
    Stay strong and RIP James.
Once a Red always a Red.

Hello, Tommy (Mike). I couldn't let this one pass without comment. We lost our son in the same way in September 2011. He was thirty-five years old. Having gone through this bereavement, I may be able to be of some help to you and offer you some support through these desperately painful first months. There is stuff I wouldn't want to put on here, but I feel that we could, maybe, chat on the phone. Otherwise, I am not local, living in Gloucestershire now. I wouldn't want to leave personal contact details on here. Can anyone tell me how to contact Tommy (Mike) directly?

I am so sorry to hear this. As a Dad to two lads my stomach knots reading your post.

I don't know what I'd do in your situation mate, my head spins just trying to imagine it.

I hope the rest of the family can somehow feel closer out of the grief. My sympathy isn't going to help you at all, but you have it in spades fella.

I will try to do that. I have never done so before, so might need a bit more advice.

You're a good man and a caring person to offer support in this way as I can only imagine how awful memories are brought up for you.

To Tommy/Mike. 'Sorry for your loss' seems the wrong thing to say and so unhelpful but it's all I can say really. I hope you manage to get through this horrible time and the horrible times going forwards as best as is possible considering you'll never 'get over' it nor can be expected to. You're in my thoughts and I'll be honoured to clap for your son James.

To everyone else. If you are struggling, seek help. Whether that's via a professional, a friend, a stranger online or on here or if you run out of options pm me. I don't care who you are just send me a message. I might not be able to help but I certainly won't make things any worse. If you aren't struggling, ask your mates how they're doing. Be there for them. If you see a strange looking down ask them if they're ok. It won't do any harm.

Heartbreaking to read that mate, like others have said it will be a honour to share a minute with you and your family in remembering your son.
    RIP James

Thanks for your concerns and offers. There are so many of James' ex contacts/boxing coaches etc who James helped with Their Mental issues - but couldn't help himself with his own. Sad to see so many young men taking their own lives because they can't take any more
