May be sent back to Watford from Wigan apparently.

Probably fairly unlikely but could be a good loan signing if Watford are prepared to foot his wages to put him in the shop window

He’s probably financially sound but his career hasn’t gone anywhere really.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat if he became available. Needs to kickstart his career somehow.

I wouldn't have him back if he played for nothing. He's got rich off his time with us and done absolutely nothing since.

I wish I had his agent. how he managed to land a 4-year PL contract with Watford, is beyond all logic. he's now 27, and has 26 goals to his name over a 7 year career.

Cause it's not like we're short of a much better class striker than what we've got, is it?

Hes done nothing for years. I don't think I'd want him back but on this forum there's a obsession with ex players and managers.

I'm in no doubt our world class coaching team would rekindle his early talents.

As bad as our strikers are they have scored far more goals in much less years than Fletcher.

Have all the coaching you want at the end of it all it's down to the player to perform. He's made alot of money from football probably setup for life.

To be fair he didn’t really do that much for us. 5 in 21 games, which is sometimes overlooked by some of our fans, because he scored at Wembley.

I did think he was a decent young prospect but some of the fees and salaries that he’s been a part of have been obscene for his ability and achievements.

He’s now damaged goods. Hardly played, probably now set for life and lost his motivation for the game.

No one is going to pay him anywhere near what he has, and Watford will be stuck with him.

Id hazard a guess he doesn’t play another 50 first team games.

Based on what he's 27 now and done nothing of note in his career. He scored a few important goals for us Wembley been one Walsall away been another but like terry says he scored 5 in 21 games hardly prolific. He's picked up some big wages in his career and probably set for life does he want to come and play league one again rebuild his career that never got going? I don't know big gamble.

He scored 9 in 31 for us and got another 6 assists. Scored a goal every 173 minutes he was on the pitch which is some going considering he wasn't even played central in all games.

That's all well and good.....but it was 7 years ago. He's done very little since and at 27, you should expect him to be around his peak, playing regularly and scoring goals. He isn't. He seems to have failed miserably to live up to the expectations that we had during that loan spell.

You may well be right, but I hope you're wrong. The ability is clearly there and his attitude appeared to be spot on as well. I'm not really sure why things haven't quite worked out for him in his career, but if we could get him with Watford paying a chunk of his wages, for me it's a risk worth taking.
