I was a nipper when I saw it. It was on one dinner time after my Grandad picked me up from nursery. Weird ending as it wasn't in keeping with the mood of the film.
Not so fun fact is that the writer of Tarka the Otter was a member of Mosley’s British Union of Fascists and a frequent visitor to Nazi Germany before the war. He was briefly interned at the start of the war.
I would have thought that Stephen Dawson and Terry Nutkins would have preferred 'Ring of Bright Water '.
Not sure if I’ve got the right film but remember watching one at school. Bored out my head for a hour or so watching this bloke loving and raising this otter and then it suddenly gets chopped with a spade or summat. but when searching Tarka the otter in google says killed by dogs then there’s this, what’s with all these films about killing otters
