Stanley return to Oakwell for only their 2nd visit since their reformation. Their previous visit resulted in a 2-0 home win courtesy of an own goal and a Dimitri Cavare strike, both just before half time. Stanley have struggled away from home this season. They've secured 11 points from 12 away games (20th best record in the division), scoring just 7 times which is the lowest goal haul in the division for an away team. That being said, they are on a run of 2 defeats in 9 away matches in all competitions, including a penalty victory over Lincoln to put them through to the Northern Area Final of the PJT. In the league, it's 2 months since Accrington last won away (0-1 at Cambridge), and Bristol Rovers are the only side currently in the top half which they've taken points from on their travels. Prior to the Bolton debacle, where we succumbed to an early red card, we'd won 5 consecutive home games in all competitions. We currently have the 8th best home record, albeit we've struggled for goals ourselves (17 from 12 games), however with 3 new incomings and just 1 major outgoing (Edwards) this month so far, the squad is starting to look much deeper. I think this is the perfect game for us to get back to winning ways. I can see Stanley trying to keep it tight at the back in the early stages with their poor scoring record away from home, but if we can get the early goal, it could be a comfortable victory. I'm going for 2-0 with Norwood and Watters on the scoresheet.
1-1, Accrington’s shithousery and the in-the-ref’s face all game tactics will frustrate the day again. We just don’t seem to be able to handle this type of game
C,O,Y,R, keep the faith, 4 - 0, i'll be at Scarborough, Saturday pre arranged meeting, watching, AFC Fylde
Must win game in all honesty looking at the upcoming fixtures. Hard to judge considering we look like we can't hit a barn door at the moment and we're gifting the opposition at least a goal and/or a penalty every game. Something has to change in our favour soon. Hopefully it's on Saturday.
Agree on the 2-0. Phillips to get his shooting boots back on and a goal from a defender from a corner.
0 1. Bad run continues. Can't see where a goal is coming from. Hope we stuff em and I am completely wrong.
