Remember in the early 90s when Leeds won the old First Division title, I was worried at the time that they might become a top team and start winning things again. But of course, that never happened. Itv's top 5 favoured clubs at the time were Liverpool, Ar*senal, ManUre, Tottenham... and Everton (and their lead presenter was Elton Welsby!). Clubs like Man City & Chelsea were nowhere to be seen, and in fact they had both only just come back up from the Second Division. How times change ehh, especially with the introduction of Sky sports and the Premier league.
Leeds, Forest, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal all have the money to compete. Like I eluded to earlier the landscape has changed. It isn't how much for the elite clubs it's how you spend it and ultimately player choice.
Bankrolled by Russian loans, currently around £120m in debt. No thanks. https://theathletic.com/2480733/202...-of-relegation-and-dependence-on-demin/?amp=1
Go on then I'll bite. You're obviously singling me out judging by your last few posts. What's your gripe?
Am I missing something or aren't you the poster who was arguing with all and sundry a year or so ago because they dared to criticise Paul Conway and the owners at the time? I seem to remember you were praising him and saying all the clubs problems stemmed from Patrick cryne's time at Oakwell.
Ignore him Stevo, just the latest angry little man this forum seems to attract. Everything he'll say will be tragically negative cause he's angry at the world. Life has let him down and he wants someone to blame for it, so he comes on here swinging, trying to bring others down to his sad and depressing level.
