Yeah exactly, there's no understanding some people.
I actually think some of the over reactions on here this season have been unbelievable really, considering where we still are in the Lg table.

I don't think the stadium helps in L1, when we have few away fans.

I think also we are a team bouncing from L1 to the Championship. We had the Covid era of closed doors too. Every club had that, but our glory times were staying up under Struber & the playoffs with big Val, mostly behind closed doors a lot of youngsters don't remember the glory years of the 80's & 90's when we were a force & most of us old cnuts are now sat in the East Stand like zombies most of the time, rattling our jewelery.

That's just the way it is... somethings may or may not change, to quote Bruce Hornsby & his "Range". Just bought an air fryer, but scared to actually turn it on, due to the warning instructions. A range is definitely out.

I've just been through all 5 pens again and tried to apply the semi-objective 'how much would I have been aggrieved if it had been the other way and a shout for us but not given' test. On that basis I'd have definitely wanted the Fleetwood, Derby and Bolton pens but think both the Accrington pens were ludicrous decisions.

Think I agree with you as long as you ignore the foul on Mads before the Bolton one but thing that has most of us really annoyed is we’ve had some pretty clear cut pens turned down in the same games. Especially the first Altringham and the Fleetwood games

Agreed - I was just commenting on the actual award decision 'cos there are a couple where there's other issues in the build-up as you mention.

And it's incredible inconsistency that today's is a penalty and, eg, the foul on Cole at Accrington isn't.

Just watched the pen Replay, how the ref come that decision is beyond comprehension, our player had the ball under controle and their player came across him, both went to ground, our free kick.

Err where did Altringham come into it lol.
Surely we do admit that Mads was clumsy in the two Lg games, and it was a stupid handball in the Cup.
Incidents like that just make it easy for the ref to give it, so theres no real complaints apart from thinking it was maybe a bit harsh/unlucky etc.
But this is getting beyond annoying now how many very similar clear cut looking incidents at the other end, are just being waved on or even given against us.

I saw it live and have now watched it at least 5 times on video...am I missing something or have they changed the rules ...about what constitutes a penalty...never in a month of Sundays.. ref got that one wrong In my opinion.
we we're hard done by today , with that decision
Could it be, that all referees are linked to some far off Malaysian betting syndicate who inturn are milking the system with penalties awarded against us ....

I’ve rewatched it a number of times and still unable to see why it was given, unbelievably bad decision

I didn't like it one bit, because my view is that managers shouldn't criticise our players openly in that way.
He took responsibility for conceding the goal, only insofar as declaring it was his fault for bringing Larkeche on. Not classy at all.

I took it more as he changed things so Larkeche didn't have time to settle, therefore it was his fault rather than blaming the player?

I can see where you got that from but I took it the opposite. He gave him time because he was training really well but because he was on for so little time he was up against it. It was Duff taking the blame and protecting the player in my view.

Overall, I'm a fan of Duff's so had a other listen in case I was being harsh.
I don't think so, simply because he called out Ziyad 'made a mistake: & the only way he took responsibility was to suggest he shouldn't have brought him on in the first place.
I get the point that he's been doing well in training, but he was also one of our better players at Charlton.
In my opinion, Duff made a mistake by not bringing him on earlier in the 2nd half & there was no need to declare that Larkeche cost us a 3-0.

I think 99% of managers would have dodged it by saying they are baffled as to why the penalty was given and he couldnt see that Larkeche did much wrong. Lets face it Managers have ignored many far clearer penalties and claimed the decision was incorrect
