He is trying to make out all he has done is be critical in an attempt to solicit some sort of backlash. I expect he's deleted his tweets to support his argument. Replying to JAQ and calling her a **** (c word) or a kangaroo ******* or making disparaging remarks about her appearance constantly isn't a criticism of the club. It's abuse. I understand there are 100+ such tweets along those lines that the club are aware of directed at all manner of people involved with the club. I mentioned earlier that the lad that did Toby tyke resigned due to abuse received online.

I understand criticising the owners and board (criticising not abusing) but what the hell has Toby done to get any stick at all?

The frustrating thing about this is that at the beginning of the season I remarked that the newest Toby and his assistant/helper who walks around the pitch with him was the best we'd had in years. Extremely friendly and interacted well with the kids with the helper taking photos for them (in the past the helper wouldn't take photos) and they've driven him out

He always used to be up for a laugh when he came to the fan zone and interacted brilliantly with the kids in there. It's a real shame and very sad that he's been driven away like that.

Just read the banned lads tweets replies, going back almost week. Hideous. Called 3 women c words, first being that clare of red all over, told 4 women to f off. Generally very nasty on twitter. So really doesn't shock me if the club have found something of his to warrant this ban

My kids met him twice last summer, once outside of Tesco with Reds in the community and once at the fire & rescue open day. They absolutely loved meeting him both times and while they are still a bit too young to get to games they kept asking to see him again. Fully hope that the club do follow through and start getting rid of some of the toxic pillocks who claim to be supporters.

Our family were also at the fire and rescue open day. I have a lovely photo of myself and my 3 year old grandson standing with Toby. It's very disappointing to hear that he's called it quits because of online abuse. I really do despair at times. Sadly, there seems to be a constant supply of these idiots.

Man is abusive towards a business and its employees so they refuse him service.

I'm struggling to find much sympathy.

I'm probably old fashioned on the social front. I did get carried away once on a message board getting baited into an argument but, by and large, I have always taken the view that I wouldn't say online anything that I wouldn't say to [whomever] if they were sat opposite me across a table in the pub.

I think that's a reasonable enough a test, I don't understand why anyone would see it any differently. The notion that a keyboard and screen make anything acceptable baffles me.

I wouldn't walk up to JAQ in the street and say that, so I wouldn't do it online.

Let's be fair, he's not been banned for "having an opinion" he's been banned for unnaceptable abuse.

Fans being banned from Oakwell for having an opinion and being critical of some ownership decisions would be ridiculous.

I bet every penny I’ve ever had and ever will have that he has not been banned for an opinion or criticism of the board’s decision making.

You don’t have to dig too far to find some very nasty stuff and I’d wager he’s deleted whatever bile he’s posted about Julie Ann or anyone else which has led to his banning.

Wondered what all this was on abart, now i'm clearer, i'd say at times we get annoyed, upset and angry, what we have to do is respect people, i try not to call anybody out, especially on a computer, or phone, if i have a grievence with anybody i'd like to tell em square on, but as we all know its so easy to disrespect, behind a keyboard. I'm not one for banning anybody for having an opinion, but if its threatening then, well they get whats coming. Well done Barnsley F.C.

He’d been blocked on twitter by JAQ for a while but didn’t take the hint so not surprised he’s been banned.

Yep, seems 95% of his 'criticism' is aimed at JAQ, no one else. I dont often subscribe to every one calling someone sexist at their first actual critique of someone like you see a lot online, but this certain individual smacks of sexism
