    Myself and my colleagues had just arrived at our hotel, put our bags in our rooms, and received the call saying it’s off. First update from Exeter since 11am. Not a happy bunny.

    Sympathies to the fans who’ve travelled.

    So it was looking good this morning and despite the temperature going up to 5° through the day, the pitch is now surprisingly frozen. Someone incompetent or the goalie shortage has played a part. Poor that.

    Who decides at what time to inspect the pitch mate ? Is it the refs call? Or the home club? Seems terrible decision making / organisation

    None . I was pretty matey with a lower league referee a few years ago who basically called them off for fun and used to say 'I ain't turning out in this '.

    Surely if it’s not freezing temperatures and parts of ground still frozen a drop of Watter can loosen it ?
    Methinks there’s some influencing of ref because of goalkeeper troubles are afoot imo .

    Been handled appallingly. Late decision compounded with zero updates from Exeter City.

    EFL need to do something about games that involve such a distance between the two sides. Not initially scheduling them on an FA Cup weekend would be a start. And where possible, not have the game between November and March for the longest trips. And if there is say 100+ miles between the two clubs, something should be brought in to say that fans are entitled to compo if the game is called off less than 5 hours before kick off.
