    Every little bit helps.

It's not like you can convert plastic food bags to cardboard.

Using (and re-using) plastic food bags saves food waste, so they do their little bit too.

I'm recycling my used carrier bags into re-usable condoms. Just ring them out when you're done. Don't put them on the washing line though. You wouldn't want one of those hitting you on the face.

I'm reluctantly removing you from my special list.

Since having to pay for plastic carrier bags the amount used has fallen off a cliff. A great success until you look at the increase in sales of plastic bin liners.

What else can you realistically dispose of your rubbish in a black bag/liner before putting it in your wheelie bin? I suppose I should save potato bags and use them. Should I be wrapping my rubbish in rice paper or using the Daily Sport? Same with shopping bags. We use those bags for life and old plastic ones that we take with us and on rare occasion still pay for them. They're a damn site more useful than those paper ones.

Last winter we decided to ditch bin bags and put waste straight in bin.

After fortnightly collection it meant lugging the Karcher out but it was only a 10 minute job. This worked ok till midsummer when our gert was greeted by a sea of maggots when she lifted lid. Needless to say I was despatched sharpish to buy bin bags.

Reverted to waste directly in bin this winter though, but I'm charged with putting all waste out...

Why did you buy the item several times? I've never been asked to pay more than once for anything

Every little helps, but supermarkets and producers could be doing a lot more. Why are they still bundling beans/soups/spaghetti etc. into shrinkwrapped four-packs? Just sell individual tins and price them up accordingly. Same with yoghurts. Some are sold loose, while others are unnecessarily packed into larger quantities. Why? It's all superfluous packaging, usually plastic.

Toothpaste tubes. Used to have a small screw on cap. Now its four times the size, just so we can stand the tube on its end when we get it home.

And don't get me started on biscuits that are packaged in a plastic tray before being wrapped up in more plastic. Just pack them in cardboard boxes FFS.
