You should see what folk are writing on Twitter. Saying he's a brilliant player & he's unlucky not to be starting etc. Baffled me a little. Don't think he's as bad as you're saying, but I tend to agree he was fortunate joining us. Albeit, maybe us trying to transform him into a right back/wing back stunted his growth as a player and he'll smash it for Northampton as a midfielder.

As for taking cheap punts on players, I have no issue at all with that - as long as it doesn't come before making serious decisions or hinders first team plans. Hondermarck & Bremang, we've actually made a profit selling them.

 

I've no issue with us taking a punt on him either. And I wish him the best of luck.

There is no criticism of our football club in my comments, and no criticism of Hondermarck. No one has done anything wrong.

But I see talented young people all the time who have not had his good fortune. I just think we overvalue footballers and undervalue a lot of really great young people.

Completely agree with you. I thought he looked alright in his first couple of cameos in midfield, but I think a lot of people are vastly overrating him, positionally he was really poor.

 

Good physical attributes but nowhere near good enough on the ball. His second touch is often a tackle! Full of endeavour but I don’t see him ever making it at our level or higher.
