I have seen them and thank you.
I can only work with what the son had told me and I see no benefit in me going back to him and saying what he has told me is not right as it just muddies the water.
Which is why I felt the best way I can help him is to steer him towards Citizens Advise as I’m assuming Dial will be for Barnsley based people and don’t know of any version doing Lincoln(although) there may well be.

Fit and healthy before, got took ill ended up in a Coma and had to amputate his leg.
I didn’t know the dept to go to but he said Job Centre and it’s them saying the OP details.
I don’t mind admitting having been lucky enough to have never had to need benefits I know absolutely nothing about the system, who where and how.
Hence the original post, TBH I completely forgot about CA until the posts about Dial.

They won't be worried about gas, electricity, food, council tax, water etc like many people BORN here. Iam all for helping genuine migrants but we make it hard for our own people in need.

Language is probably the main one. Just like those from ex French colonies etc would prefer to go to France as they already speak the language.

Well I’m afraid you are being argumentative to the point of wilful ignorance.
I posted the facts regarding benefits, there are also tons of sources that show that we get many less asylum claims than comparable countries.

But some people choose to believe the myth that we are the favoured destination and it’s because we’re so generous.

Take a minute to think about the deep rooted beliefs that make you so easy to manipulate.

It doesn't have to be either or though. But the Tories love having them as scapegoats, conveniently forgetting that the NHS for eg. wouldn't function without immigration.

I’m not posting opinions, I’m pointing you to the facts.

No asylum seeker is ever ‘illegal’. You may claim asylum in any country you wish to. It is only at the point where your asylum has been processed and it has been determine you have no valid claim that you then can be classified as illegal and available for immediate deportation.

Asylum seekers have no recourse to public funds and as such cannot claim benefits of any kind.

if you don’t want to be thought of as being racist then don’t parrot the racist lies you hear. Just a thought.

Before I got to the end I was thinking MP. Who is your MP? Any MP really should help in a situation like yours, irrespective of party.
When you email your MP, you have to give an address in their constituency otherwise they won't enter into correspondence.

It is pointless taking it any further if you plan on just ignoring the facts and data.

I suggest our politicians stop pretending that a relatively small number of people are a 'crisis' and stop baiting the racists and get on with treating all their citizens with respect and all our potential future citizens with respect too.

    Simple really

Spend time giving further education to some of the resident BBS bigots, judging by some of the replies to threads on here.

open up a processing centre in France as the French want us to do and have offered to part fund.

We are an ageing population we desperately need young working age people to contribute to the economy. So the ones that are clearly legitimate fast track them and look to set up employment as part of the asylum process.

Stop the newspapers whipping up lies about the whole process.

Be more gracious to our European cousins and acknowledge that we take a small number of asylum seekers comparatively.

Acknowledge that we have fewer asylum seekers than at most points on the last 40 years. 2005 for example had nearly twice as many

Stop creating asylum seekers by bombing:attacking countries that don’t threaten us.
