My solution would be to allow migrants to work, earn their keep & pay taxes like everyone else. Instead, we have a stupid draconian system that makes them persona non grata's and take years to process their mostly, (but not all) valid claims for asylum. The Tory Party are not interested in anything other than the right wing press support they get on their current stance.

That stance has nothing to do with justice, practicality, or the good of the country, just like the rest of their policies TBH. Divide & rule.

But I bet he claims a 5hit load of money for a constituency office, and probably employs relatives in it.

If you enter a country by a illegal method example crossing the Channel in a boat you are here illegally. You then get caught and register a asylum claim or not bother and even work illegally too. Two Albanians in my local rag this week came here decided to work illegally in the drugs game and now jailed for 3 year in England and face deportation on release.

Asylum seekers need housing and to be kept while their claim is processed they cannot work.

When you throw the racist thing about at every opportunity you belittle the word. And you do it all the time on this board its quite embarrassing.

When you enter the country and you instantly present yourself to the authorities, you have done nothing illegal.

If you work whilst awaiting your asylum claim to be processed you're breaking the law - but you haven't become an illegal immigrant.

How should an asylum seeker enter the country?

Not every one does go to authority's. Yes that's what I said in the past if your awaiting asylum you cannot work and need a address hence my point you will get housed etc. There was 72k applications for asylum in 2022.

Do you have any statistics on the numbers that manage to land and don’t claim asylum?

And if those that do; do you know how many would be described as victims of modern slavery?

And given this all sprung from a dick posting that asylum seekers were entitled to better treatment than U.K. citizens, why even bring up ‘illegal immigrants’ because as you’re no doubt aware, they’re entitled to nothing at all.

Let’s stick closely to facts. They’re either asylum seekers working illegally or they’re illegal immigrants. One of the other.

You’ve written this twice now, first time I thought ok might be a typo but not now….

can you explain how “you find work in the drugs trade” please…. Did they see a job advert or maybe use a recruitment agency….

for absolute goodness sake you’ve written some garbage in this thread.

Educate the section of society who are so easily gaslighted into believing far-right drivel put out by propaganda-mongers, done to act as a ‘dead cat’ to draw attention away from what the actual issues are.

And democratically elect a fair minded government.

Mine would be to vote anyone in instead of these criminals, preferably The Green Party (while there is still a little time left to avoid the worst of Global Warming) or Labour or Lib Dem. Anyone but the Tories and whatever UKIP call themselves these days.
Oh and reform the news media by making it more difficult to spread their lies (fine them massively when they do it) and protecting people who call the lies out by reforming the law round libel and defamation.

A few quotes from the letters page of The Barnsley Chronicle in 1947.

    “Leave Britain for the British.”

“What meals, money, clothes are they to get for free? The serious economic situation in Britain today does not permit so many to get so much for free.”

“They will become a permanent affliction on the town.”

“Yet we welcome these aliens, we let them come to England to eat our rations and smoke our cigarettes.”

    Nowt changes.
