Absolute credit to our club. Full marks to all the players today, other than a moment of stupidity. Ran their nads off, including subs. Played some lovely football even with 10 men, especially before our second. But kudos to Duff. Made the perfect changes to tackle losing a player. Perfect system, formation and substitutions. Cambridge were crap, no doubt, which probably helped. But I genuinely believe we have a proper gem of a head coach here. And who knows, if he hadnt made the changes he did, maybe Cambridge wouldn't have been as crap in second half Brilliant lads. Fully deserved
Beat them with 10 men twice now! Put on another thread yesterday that we absolutely need to do all we can to keep Duff as there isn’t any coach in this division or the one above that I think would do a better job. Let’s hope we can progress together.
The changes were spot on - it was bold putting another striker on but it worked and Norwood really helped Cole who lifted his game
Last year they would have made the right changes but not necessarily in the right order! Actually scrap that they both would have messed it up
Said to mate at halftime that we needed a way to get up the pitch otherwise it was going to be a long second 45 minutes and Fair play to Duff he got the changes spot on .
Great substitutions at half time, I totally agree, but I thought we were a little flat after we went 1-0 up,....really impressed with work rate after we went down to 10 men though, ....not sure Cambridge were as bad as you reckon though and there’s been worse teams than them this season.....overall really happy with today!
I think Cambridge have a good squad, especially in the forward areas. I like both Smith & Ironside and think they're solid players. But in my opinion its clear to see why they've only won 1 league game in 15(ish?). I can't remember them having a shot on goal besides that one effort Isted did well on. Did they even have a shot first half? We played some wonderful stuff leading up to our second, passing it round really well, and they seemed second to every ball & sluggish. I agree we've seen worse teams this season, but not by much!
