I thought similarly to a stupid no need push near their area early in the game. Gifting them posession when we could have been pressing to score. Thick as pig 5hit.
Agree - he's a young lad who will learn from his mistake and come good for us. A valuable addition to our forward options I reckon.
I think Mowatt chalked up a daft sending off on his debut and he ended up doing pretty well for us. Can't write him off yet, but it was a silly one.
Wasn’t me who made the daft reference to Mowatt if you want to split hairs though either. Watters going to be out of the picture for 3 games now too also so no matter how you look at it he’s messed up big time today. Only thing in his favour was that we still won. Think had the result turned he would have got a much more harsh reaction.
Straight red 'all day long' vicious, premeditated and unnecessary. What I don't get is our fans booing their lad who was felled. We really do have some muppets for fans.
One of greatest players I've seen pull on the red shirt got sent off on his full debut and he went to Oxford. Can happen to the best of us.
I didn't see the incident fully at the game but immediately said to our kid he's off as their players were hounding the ref. Now I've seen it I can see why. No arguments here. A red all day long
It weren’t that bad. Yeller would have done. I was expecting a reight skull crusher, way folk were banging on?
I'm sure we can hang, draw and quarter him after Duff has finished with him. We have Tedic, Shaw, Cole, Norwood, Jalo and Thomas. It's not exactly Dire Straits.
just watched it back. absolutely horrible that. not just the contact, but the intent. ball already over watters' head, moving in the opposite direction. absolutely no way he can say he was going for the ball. if that was a challenge on one of our players, we'd be going spare. not gonna crucify the lad, but I really hope he comes out and apologises.
It's the intent and the disgusting way he behaved afterwards. Refusing to check on their player, doing a runner from the ref and then refusing to go over when the ref repeatedly called him over.
Yes no real complaints today. I thought he gave them a few soft decisions but I’m hardly impartial. Other than Norwoods booking no real complaints
We were pretty close to both the Watters and Norwood incidents and the first was a definite red and the second really shouldn't have been a yellow. The Norwood booking was probably the only decision of any consequence that the ref got wrong imho. Let's not hang Watters out to dry, please, he's a young kid of 23 making his way in the game and has hadn't much game time this season so far. It's very out of character too - Watters has sixty odd first team appearances and only two bookings before today, never mind any reds. He hasn't even been booked for the last two seasons and it's 45 appearances since he picked up a yellow! What he did today was wrong but we know in Duff that we have the best bloke in charge to be able to handle the situation with the player in the right way.
