Only a point less than at the same stage in our last promotion season. We won the next two games that season to hit 57 after 30 matches.
Must admit I didn't think we would do this well based on last season, but Duff appears to be pulling the rabbit out of the box and getting them up for playing. Just hope it continues so we get back to the Championship.
Still relegation for me. I've decided to join the doom n gloomers - too many happy clappers now for my liking
No, I probably didn't, although I didn't think we'd be relegation fodder, either. Mainly due to my expectations before Stendel's first season and how badly wrong I got that one
I’m pleasantly surprised. Didn’t expect 50 points so soon. I’d expected us to be around 40 points at this stage and 5 or 6 more games to get to 50. Happy to be proved unduly pessimistic
After last season's debacle, I'd have been happy taking 50 points over the whole season and stay in the division. If I'm honest, the best I expected was to get a Coach that actually knew what he was doing and to get some team spirit and confidence back in the team. With Michael Duff, we've got that and more. To be looking at a possible playoff spot is better than anyone could imagine at this stage of the season. I don't think we've got enough to see promotion this season, but that could be a blessing in disguise. I think it would be too early. The signs are good for a team rebuilding it's confidence and form and let's look to build on that for next season. In Duff we trust. You Reds
Not me, I'll happily admit because it highlights how well they have done. Taking that awful team from last season who weren't even competitive, losing about eight first team players and replacing them with free agents and fringe players. Without pre-judging any of the new recruits I thought Barnsley were going to struggle, if only due to the statistics of some recruits working and some not. Then you have the task of getting your cobbled together squad to play with one another as a unit and I thought we'd be looking at a fairly grim season. Yes, there is the division drop but can anyone say last season's shambolic disorganised 'team' would have prospered regardless? They were next to useless.
I'm happy i knew we'd be playoff contenders, always said wer a good Team in this League, and now wer a better Team than we wer. Difficult run in, but having said that the top 9 are all in the same boat. Scoring, and not conceeding, C,O,Y,R,
Admittedly, even as recently as the new year, I still felt we'd finish mid-table. Our January signings appear to have bolstered the squad (Thomas in particular has made a great early impact), and as long as we take points off the teams around us when we play them in the coming weeks, there's no reason why we can't finish in the top 6. We're ticking along nicely.
Talked about mid-table mediocrity before we kicked a ball and glad to be wrong.....Optimistic for next season even if we dunt make it this time..
Didn’t think we’d get 50 for the season and still expecting the wheels to fall off but the position we are in we have to go for it
