Yes, I will definitely encourage her to keep coming. How are you doing? Are you still in the hospital? We missed you tonight at the meal etc. I hear you've been away from Oakwell for a couple of months.
That's great that she had a good day. And managed without toys younger then my son did, the few times I took him at that age he was on his Nintendo for much of the match! Watches it all now though and funnily enough told me he'd enjoyed the game most this season. Think the kid for a quid initiative paid off too, seemed a few more families around us.
So glad she enjoyed it! Seemed to be a few more young uns knocking about in the Ponty today - great to see
Fantastic post Gally! Really glad it went so well for you both. Looking forwards to taking my two one day.
Yes, lying in hospital with a tube sticking out of me. Had the gallbladder out, but it was a tricky operation, as it was quite inflamed and stuck to the bowel and liver. Nice. Sodding painful, I can tell you that much. That’s four home games on the trot I’ve missed now. Can’t remember the last time that happened. Probably when I was living in Brighton 29 years ago. Sounds like Bob chose a good game to come back for. Sorry I missed it all.
My 10 year old is now in his 7th season as an ST holder believe it or not! It’s brilliant, our day out together, I’ve no doubt the clubs got him for life. He’s off to Tattersall Lakes for a few days and he’s gutted as he really wanted to go to Cheltenham! It re-lit the fire in me as well. For a few years I rarely went to a game until he came along. Now we both live and breathe it. Absolutely brilliant that others are doing the same and their kids are enjoying
Nice photos Paul. Glad she enjoyed her day. My lad was 5/6 when I first took him. still going 37yrs later.
nice one. sounds like she loved it. question on fanzone. have you lot packed in with the bar now? was a bit gutted when I turned up yesterday to find you weren't there. for me it started as 'by the fans for the fans'. doesn't feel like that at all now.
That's what it's all about, the next generation. That is why the kids club needs to continue to improve to get them entertained and keep them happy so they aren't bored before the match has started.
He said the other day that were all too busy with other commitments yesterday to be able to run it but I think he said they'd be back soon
I know exactly what you mean, as I was losing interest at one point, but I absolutely love going to the footy with my son. My daughter used to come too, but as she got to her teens she drifted away. My son is like me, a mad Barnsley fan with little interest of football outside that, although he did take an interest in England at the two recent tournaments. But watching us win at Wembley, twice, with my kids with me are two days that will live long in the memory.
No we just couldn’t staff it yesterday but its back for Derby. We’d all made other plans/commitments. For instance, I had Sophie all day as my wife was at a 50th and my parents were on holiday so back up child care was out the window plus it seemed like a good time to bring her to a game.
