I have just got back from 4 days in tarn. As usual I made my way to Birkinshaws on the market to stock up on dripping TO FIND IT HAS CLOSED.I am still in shock.

I need to find a supplier of dripping for my next visit. Proper stuff mind. None of the pre-packed rubbish. I did find some at the butcher in Worsbrough on Sheffield Rd but I need to be sure of other suppliers.

    Birkinshaws shut. Am in bits.

That was the best cooked meat stall. None of the others come close.
Nicer pies on the one as you go in. Potters, speeds pork pies. Their steak squares are good. Keith's butchers stall for percy's.

I walked in with 18 pack of Magners earlier and two packs of Pork scratchings. Laura says "are they for me". I said, "you can put em' in fridge for me if you want".

    That's a very serious claim!!

My view: Percy's are the best if you have them warm, and that's the right time to judge. If you're going to have them cold though, Rob Royds hold their crust better.

Never heard the Elmhurst claim, will seek one out one day.
