Looking to have a new gate fitted and some fencing for our back garden and also either a new lawn laying or some artificial grass. Has anyone used someone they can recommend? Thanks
Artificial grass is a shocking invention. Whoever thought covering the land with plastic was a good idea? Looks sh.te, doesn't look remotely natural. Gets hot in the sun and if pets have used it for a toilet, it kindly releases the odours when it warms up.
Got agree with the others on this. Artificial grass looks terrible and is really bad for the environment. Several of my neighbours have it. It just looks cheap and nasty in my opinion. One neighbour has weeds growing through holes in theirs. Nothing better than a freshly cut lawn.
Haha....I know. The real reason behind the post is now lost. Set off a proper environmental debate instead
We have a tiny rectangle of it on the patio (about the size of two slabs). Not through choice but some of the guide dogs won't toilet on pavement and not all guide dog owners have grass so they use it as a 'spending' training area. It gets cleaned so it doesn't smell and it's in the shade where possible so it doesn't get too hot.
No thrills. Simple lawn, border and fence. The front is brick paved with a wall. Job done. No plants they just need attention. If Kwik Save did Gardens.
Another kick in the teeth for nature. Please revise your plans. Every little helps, urban gardens provide a corridor for nature.
Thanks, much appreciated. Everyone else has lectured me about the wrongs of artificial grass! Not even made that decision yet tbh.
Just find someone local who’s got artificial grass down, take a photo put it on here with the caption, “look what I’ve had done” and sit back with popcorn, you’ll get hours of fun,
Make sure the fence panels you get don't have the bottom rail right at the bottom i.e. sitting on the gravel board. They will rot in no time and you will have to replace the panels even though the pales are alright.
