This is a good listen. Love listening to what Duff has to say. What a fantastic decision it was bringing him in as head coach.

Just for balance (and the benefit of any reading Chairmen of Championship clubs), Duff is an inarticulate, tactically inept buffoon who lets his dogs **** all over the training pitches and who never says thank you to the tea ladies and who parks so badly he takes up three spaces.

    Don't go near him.

That's a great interview with Khaled and MD. It's a great illustration of how joined up we are as a club.

Said it before, Michael is an absolute diamond. top class. v articulate guy with a great sense of humour.
I look at managers and ask myself would I like to work for them?:......in MDs case....definitely.
The man is clearly inspirational. We'll do well to hold on to him.
Also, a word on Khaled.....I really hope that the people who have given him stick on here and elsewhere can now see what a quality guy he is. His vision for the club is spot on. He's transforming our club in all respects.
We clearly have a cohesive group of people, from the cleaner up, who are taking us in a positive direction.
Congratulations to all involved for bringing BFC back to Barnsley.

It's great right now but it'll all feel in vein for me if we don't gain promotion.

ven if we dont go up we must make it a priority to keep him. He has a vision for the playing side and his no-nonsense approach suits us perfectly. As Khaled said in the interview, if we lost a few games that should not affect the long term planning.

Just listening to it now and I loved the humour right from the start. Michael referred to some clown who told him to "do one back to Cheltenham!" after the opening day defeat at Plymouth. That's the kind of buffoon that follows most football clubs.

I love having him managing our club but am realistic enough to know that it will be a relatively short term thing. He won't be a permanent fixture in the north of England when all his family are established in Cheltenham. Family life will be important to him and if he gets a better offer from a southern or western based club he will take it. Not this season though, hopefully :)

personally don't think that will be possible. I think if we don't go up, he'll be off. bigger teams will already be paying very close attention. I suspect it will be val revisited, if we don't go up.

I get the feeling that he's a loyal kind of guy, going on his past. Yes he will leave at some point but I don't think/hope it will be this season. He gives me the impression that he has a vision of what he wants to do here and will stay untill he feels he's done enough to test himself at a higher level. Egg on face next year.:):)

Completely understand what you're saying. However his track record has loyalty written all over it; may be, just may be, he might show that with us. Admittedly his domestic situation is far from ideal and that goes against us. We can but hope.
It's the hope that kills you!!!

A very realistic and logical view.
My main worry on that front is when Bristol City sack Pearson they'll be knocking on his door.

That's where I was thinking was his most logical port of call. I know from having done it many times how easy it is to hop onto the M5 a few miles from his home and be in Brizzle in less than an hour. It would be a perfect fit for him domestically but, as we all know, Barnsley is a FAR, FAR bigger club than Bristol City :p
