Cheer his name when it’s read out before the match if you feel the need to but focus on supporting our lads when we kick off.

I was at Fulham singing "Here's to you Connor Hourihane" just before he jumped ship. If I could be there tomorrow, I might politely clap his name but that would be all.

He is just another opposition player as far as I am concerned. His loyalty last as long as his contract, unlike that of our supporters.

Got a lot or respect for what he did for us but at the end of the day he’s just another opposition player these days.

One of the best players I’ve ever seen in a Reds shirt and was magnificent for us but, much as I love my fellow Reds fans, I don’t think we could call ourselves ‘classy’ over these matters. So, no doubt he will get a load of abuse.

Perhaps we could pronounce (and spell…) his name right? ;-D

If you compare his leaving of the club with Sam Winnall’s, it was truly apples and oranges.

It would have been nice for him to see the season out maybe - but we all got why he left. And he left on the right terms. He won’t regret going for a second. After leaving he played regularly for Villa for the first three and a half seasons including their first back in the premier league. He fell out of favour after that but played out on loan in the championship for Swansea and Sheff Utd of course. He’s also got over thirty caps for his country, he hadnt even made his debut whilst with us.

I imagine he’d have got a contract in the championship this season had he chosen it - Derby signing him was a coup for them.

I’ll applaud him. Glad he did well after leaving - but let’s not over elevate his status too much. He was only here for 2 and a half seasons. He was very good for us and a massive reason we got promoted and stayed up; but, like Craig Hignett before him, who was great for the short time he was here, and even arguably Brian Howard, he wasn’t here long enough (in my eyes) to be regarded as a club legend.

Supporters can get contracts? I'll have £10,000 a week, I'm not greedy.

No. He's a rival. Don't boo him to motivate him even more, but save all the chanting and applauding for our own lads. I don't think Derby will be singing about Luke Thomas.

He was agreat player for us but I think some on here go over the top about him, I will applaud him but he's opposition now and it's odds on he'll con the ref for a penalty

Don't think he will. He never has to my mind before.
Just a bit of banter when we beat villa away.

Had I been able to attend, I'd give him a warm welcome. It would cease for the duration of the game. Afterwards, I'd warmly applaud him again. Conor is in my all time favourite Barnsley XI, so I'll always love and respect him.

Yeah when he's faking injury or in the refs ear every 2 mins like he usually does I'll probably regret clapping him.
