I'll be honest, in real time I thought he looked off, and what's more he didn't need to touch it. it was already going in. if I was Phillips I'd be having a word, for nicking my goal freeze framing it though, I've changed my mind. Forsyth looks to be playing Cole on for me.
wasn't it the shot from Phillips that Cole poked in, that people were saying was offside? Phillips looked to get the last shot off, to me.
I would say yes, but that video doesn’t show clearly who played the ball on, but Hourihane doesn’t complain about the goal so maybe he knows he played the ball on. Either way, we deserve some good fortune/luck given the number of $hite decisions we have had against us the season
Cole was onside, then we were better than them in a football match. We all know the top 2 and then the play off teams. Good to dick the cheats today.
Good god, what a deluded lot. They got battered. Usual cries of referee should never be allowed to officiate again, Barnsley players are thugs, Barnsley fans are thick. “We used to annihilate you annually when we had players on £20k a week” - yeah, because you couldn’t afford said players.
Nothing dodgy about it, although at the time we knew Cole was well offside - their defender put a foot in and made the shot. Was going in and would have been an own goal anyway, but Cole needed a goal. No offside if it’s off their defender.
Imho...in real time he looked off but seeing replays its a good goal, so well done the ref. Derby fans are angry ..they were put to bed by a side that cost a tiny fraction of their players...and it hurts. The 3 points were very well earned and overall deserved it. It takes all sorts to win a football match...Wycome came to oakwell and pressed and kicked us to their win....Exeter footballed us for theirs. Yesterday was a great example of applying yourselves to what's in front of you. Our coach and the players got it bang on....press from the front, which meant they had to go long which was food and drink to our back three. I thought they would use their wide positions more but I think we strangled them to cut that out too and were good in possession. I have said all season our weakest position was our front two....on this performance it was our strongest, hope we keep that up. I think we all know we have looked at the fixtures and realise we have to perform against the top sides, yesterday was a massive plus in that tick box.
One Derby fan saying we’re a horrible club, and their reasoning was that we didn’t serve alcohol to kids and put a tannoy announcement out asking people to not chant racist things. Quite the take
Actually thought their player touched it rather than Philips which means it didn't matter if Cole was offside
I was convinced Phillips got the shot off, but mebbi I’m wrong and it was actually their defender. Either way, cole was still in an onside position.
Bramcoteram84 on page 19 as got it bad' had a go at the club' the fans' the bloke on the PA and the bloke in the metrodome car park' mind you don't choke on the sour grapes son..
I've always quite liked Derby County as a club but a large element of their support base seem to have been to the same school of football arrogance attended by various 'big' clubs. They have managed to turn years of over spending into a sympathy act, where now they're apparently unfairly restricted. The soft approach taken by the football authorities (smaller clubs would have been booted down the leagues) has somehow been interpreted as harsh on the club and because Derby are a trendy, reasonably big club, the media and sections of the football community have lapped this up. Now they are having to slum it in League 1, with players who could play a level above, they can't accept it and moan about not being able to outspend the smaller clubs. Certain posters on there remind me of Leicester City fans and indeed both sang similar, weirdly over the top songs mocking our demise whilst helping relegate us in recent years. Sunderland never seemed to have this attitude for whatever reason.
