ps Also it would mean we had a great run of games between now and the end of the season - I'd prefer that too
I'm skint and would hate to miss us at Wembley. It wasn't bad in 2016 because I had some money in the bank back then.
If we get to Wembley, I'll have to give it a miss. Seen us at Wembley twice, and neither of them were in 2016.
All this talk about the ifs and the buts, can we or can't we, will we be finishing second let alone securing our play off position, never mind the subject or outcome of a play off final .... My advice is simle Let's not get ahead of ourselves...one game at a time people Yes dreams are really nice especially if they come true and the dream of automatic promotion,, one I wholeheartedly support and wish to see happen However ....in all this latest round of excitement, it appears, that most, are forgetting or overlooking the biggest challenge of all to our success ...is Referees and their officials....along with their ability to get things right and the impact its had when they havent A sobering thought, especially when you think back to what we've had to endure this season. One game at a time dear...... one game at a time......we never know from one week to the next how their presence impacts our results and final standings.
Last week I said getting 13 points more than Plymouth (without even considering Bolton, Ipswich and Derby) was an almost impossible task from 16 games. With our victory Saturday, Plymouth's defeat, and a 6 goal swing in our favour in terms of goal difference, I now make it 9 points more from 15 games. We've to play them, and we have 2 games in hand over them. If we beat them and win both of our games in hand, we go level, but there's still a lot that needs to happen, just to get us into that position. Again, that's without considering Bolton, Ipswich and Derby (who I expect to go back above us tomorrow night). Teams in the top 6 don't often go on long winless runs, particularly with how league 1 has become in the last couple of years, where its essentially 2 separate divisions in one. We spanked Derby at the weekend, but they'll probably batter Cheltenham tomorrow night and restore their lead over us. I still think 2nd is just too far out of reach. That being said, a top 6 finish is a success for me this season. It's been a great season overall.
