The council state that decision was made by the club (obviously with a bit of persuasion) my point is how exactly is closing a public road the decision of a private company? Shouldn't it be the decision of the council?

You should also do a FOI to discover who exactly is on the safety advisory group and who heads it because they flat out refused to tell me

I'll send a FOI tomorrow and ask.

If you’re not aware already there was a campaign a few years ago from club supporter groups round the country to have a representative on the SAG.
It was generally dismissed on the basis of the information was freely available via a FOI.

Pretty certain you won't get anywhere with it, more than likely it has come from some sort of intelligence suggesting a terrorist threat to UK stadia and this is a way of mitigating it. If I'm right with this, they can't reveal it because the information is covered under GPMS (Govt Protective Marking Scheme).

    What an unnecessarily condescending response.

Both. Beevor Court is being closed right at the top where it meets Pontefract Road. Barriers and three traffic operatives stopping access.

Right, I didn’t realise this. That is surprising considering the expense the club must be incurring. The merit in it is that fans are not quite as put out as they would be if they walked all the way up there only to then find there is no access into the ground. Also the younger and fitter would attempting to climb over no doubt

What about the office blocks etc on Beevor Court? Are they prevented from using it on match days?
I mean, an emergency vehicle could hit a car or person on BC, then what?

That’s an interesting one , there’s a Vets in one the other isn’t used and across the road is supported living for recovering addicts . There used to be two emergency local government teams use Beevor one who couldn’t access the building at certain times due to football traffic , they aren’t there anymore but no one thought it was inconvenient then

It would be no different to an emergency vehicle being involved in an accident on any public highway

Current occupants are the vet, South Yorkshire Pensions and the supported living. As far as I know neither of the first two are open on Saturday afternoons and do not need access. Not sure how the supported living building is used.

I have seen them move the barriers for people to access the units on Beevor Court.

I wonder if the "Beevor Court" road is a private road and therefore not public, so they can choose to close it off?

Is it? I think your response to me is poor. I really don't understand why this is such a big issue.

It's a massive issue when you can't access any Beevor. It's pent up sexual tension building up that has to be released.
