Is it just me, he doesn't engage with the fans at all after scoring. Has he always been like that or has something gone on?
I want nothing but the best for Cole (always believe in...!). I've not looked out for this but I've noticed several times when I've seen him play (sporadically) that he doesn't tend to engage with the players well from what I've seen (I can't comment on the relationship with fans). At Bristol him and Cadden were arguing about a through ball Cadden tried to play, where Cole either didn't anticipate it or didn't see it properly. Cadden's reaction seemed over the top, as did Cole's response. I've seen similar things happen with Cole and other players. I hope he's okay and it's just a footballing thing where some players get more frustrated than others. It was really good to see him and Luca embrace last night when he scored and to actually see a smile on his face. Someone will be along soon to tell me he's the happiest player they've ever met and I'm talking rubbish
Not something I have payed much attention to but he literally does engage with the fans when he scored yesterday. I have just recently watched the highlights from the game this morning and he puts the ball in, stands in the goal facing the ponty end and gestures/celebrates towards the fans. I mean it's hardly him running and swan diving into the crowd and what not but he does do it.
Think hes had a lot of stick particularly last season and probably blames all fans. last night was the first time ive seen him n Norwood embrace other than the big group ones. Hes probably got his fatha in is ear telling him he should be in the premier league like Toney.
I would say that he’s never really been one to massively interact with the crowd. I don’t particularly mind. As Helen says, it’s just how he is and how some players are.
He's had plenty of stick over the last season and half and he will never win some fans over similar to cavare Thiam etc never could. Came off the pitch over week having pictures with fans etc wouldn't read too much into not engaging with fans.
I remember sam winnall getting some stick on twitter and more or less just stopped celebrating goals just before he ****** off to wendys.
If Duff keeps picking him, he'll do for me. Devante can stick two fingers up at me after every goal for all I care. It's the goals that matter.
We pay him to score goals and he's scoring goals.....would be nice if he appeared more personable but if he was nice and not scoring...........
Some of the stick he gets on social media is pathetic and unwarranted. I've called some people out on it in the past as they are not watching the game or are just utterly thick
Yep. I'm just trying to contextualise. Not digging. No agenda. Just wondered how it was in days gone by. Would be interesting to go back in a time machine and have a look. That's all. Is that ok?
who knows. I'm assuming there's no problem in the team. doesn't strike me as summat duff would tolerate. I think if there was any negativity in the camp, they wouldn't be there. he doesn't celebrate too much, but neither does Norwood to be fair. Norwood tends to enjoy celebrating in front of their fans more than ours. which I'm a big fan of.
I mean, Andy Cole seemed to be such a friendly and cordial individual, I don’t know where he could get it from
