I think he means he'd be concerned if Norwood was our main striker in the Championship next season. I can't say I disagree, as well as Norwood has performed, you'd expect he'd not be our main goal threat next season.
tough one innit. if we were to go up, he will have played a huge part in it. could also be his only shot at playing in the championship. so you could argue he's earned his shot. however there's also no room for sentiment in football. personally I would be up for him staying with us as a valuable squad member/bench option, however I wouldn't see him as first choice at that level.
yes. keep. he's a key part of the team in many ways and he's just what MD told us he was going to be. an integral part of the team. he might have even turned the opinion of many of the knockers he's had on here.
I broadly agree Marc but if we do go up we're going to need two strikers who are real threats. I'm not sure where I see the money coming from for that. One maybe but two? There's going to have to be some astute use of what we already have.
Seems like the kind of character who would try his damnedest to prove any doubters wrong - he`ll do for me!
The main worry all round is whether the revolving door will reappear. Do we really know if we will be selling our assets again, including Duff. I know .... here we go again !!!!
Of course we're going to sell some assets. It's how we've always survived as a club. The issue is the replacements we have at the club or bring in.
I completely agree with Marc. If we did go up, he's worth it as a 15 minutes left substitute. Need more strikers for championship but definitely, the big question is about Cole
If we went up I'd hope he wasn't our main option. Wilkinson did great under Wilson & I feel his experience could be similar if we got to the Championship, even though he's never played at that level.
You never know he could turn out to be late developer like Ivan Toney. Cole is only one year older and maybe he is now, finally, hitting the form that he should have enjoyed five years ago. Never seen him take a penalty though. (probably never will )
fishing in a different pond though, aren't we? we've been able to attract the likes of Carlton Morris, Cauley Woodrow, Daryl Dike, McBurnie etc. Bradshaw is currently on fire, and we offloaded him. Gyokeres was on our radar at one point (I think). Not saying we're gonna be able to pay top dollar, but they're out there.
I think the biggest asset we need to keep us Duff. I just hope he is as loyal to us as he was to Cheltenham. My only worry with that is that his family is still down there and he might get fed up with the commute.
If we miss out on promotion, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a bigger Club come in for him. I hope I'm wrong.
Unless you have a hit man in mind, I think that is questionable. Conway, the worst CEO / Chairman ever. Glad he's gone. Let's be positive though & enjoy the current journey, even though he has hamstrung it massively. The club has done a lot to move on. We have a great manager, a CEO who clearly is sweating blood to turn things around and a very good team on the pitch.
