At the end of the day.
It's a game of two halves. (Stating the obvious.)

It didn't help us at Charlton, as it ricocheted straight to the feet of their player to tap in. (Looked offside to me.)

Just read through all these. Can't believe no one has mentioned 'asking questions'! e.g...

"He's not asking enough questions of the defenders for me"
"He's asked a question of the defender and been rewarded for it"
"His manager will be looking to his players today, to ask questions in midfield"

What are these questions that the players are asking? No one's asking any 'kin questions. Pack it in.

    Is there any other way?

i can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone use this phrase except for football commentators.

"They'll come here...". Yes, they will need to do that.

    "Part and parcel".

    "First and foremost".

    "Set our stall out".

    "Dust ourselves down"

"2-0 is a dangerous score line". (1-0 must be lethal then).

EVERY player announcing they're 'buzzing' to sign for any team on the planet. 'I'm buzzing to sign for Dagenham and Redbridge'. Yeah, course you are.

'It's too early in the game to give a yellow/red card for that' - since when are offences judged by the time they occur in a game?

'It's a foul anywhere else on the pitch, but not enough for a penalty' - where in the rules does it say a foul has to be worse in the penalty area?

'They've come for a point/draw' - who actually goes into a game of football aiming for a draw? Even if you're Southend going to Man City, surely you're aiming to win, however unlikely it might be?

The absolute worst though, as one other person mentioned: 'Away goals count double' during the away goals era. NO. THEY. DON'T. Almost every single time a game like this is/was on TV, this phrase is trotted out. By that token if you draw 2-2 away and lose 1-0 at home, it's 4-4 on aggregate, right? Or draw 3-3 away and lose 1-0 at home and you've won 6-5 on aggregate. Why they can't just say 'the away goals rule is in force/applicable' I don't know.

PS - the away goals rule is and always has been a farce anyway!

There must be loads more but these are some that come to mind.

I hate to say that the latest BFC instagram post bears the caption....Another three point opportunity.

    Wow. That's news!

Today's caption for the BFC pre match photo on Insta is " we rise".
WTF does that even mean? Surely it's possible to write something with meaning or relevance rather than this glib BS.
If it was another club I wouldn't care what crap they write but it's not. Try harder please and throw the book of trite, meaningless soundbites in the bin.

It’s the modern way though isn’t it. No English spoken. Communication via soundbite/glibspeak.
